I really like using this grill and so far I am happy with the quality of products Camp Chef makes.
Pros - Good quality build, everything is on the heavy side. Very versitile (as you buy different surfaces/add-ons). Easy to put together and set up. All the burners lit lighting quick when starting it up. Does the job well (cooking) with all the surfaces I've used. Getting the right temp setting was a little tricky but I chalked that up to being new to this grill. I found myself going up and down a little bit with the heat knob more than usual using other grills.
It came with the grill box - very nice also seems of good quality.
I bought the two burner size griddle (will write a delegate review for that). But I recommend it... great for breakfast cooking.
Cons- they should include the carry bags. Luckily they are relatively inexpensive and fit the equipment very well. I think it should also come with the leg levelers ALSO sold separate for a few dollars.
Here and there - leveling is important especially with griddle cooking so the grease drains properly. Which is why I think it should come with the leg levelers.
Stove Pros: Lots of heat, starts easily, and is really versatile.
Stove Cons: it comes with one side tray, not two, and it's the wrong size to boot. Buy a pair of 3-burner side trays/cover if you get this. You'll be sorry if you dont. Also the legs are removable. The models with fold-up legs are more convenient for transport.
Grill Pros: it's really handy, easy to transport, has a thermometer, and really adds to the versatility of the stove.
Grill Cons:This grill won't last due to rust and is difficult to clean. Recommend getting the cover for it, store it indoors, and line the bottom with foil before each use, but se a knife to cut the foil, following the cutouts on the grill.
I had no problem cooking for 12 people with or without the grill topper. I loved being able to remove the grill and set it aside when I needed more stove space. I was also able to use a cast iron grill/griddle pan over one of the stove burners so I don’t see a need in purchasing the optional griddle top at the moment.
It is very easy to set up and take down with only one person, we purchased the rolling bag to store it in so we can keep everything together. You do have to purchase the separate bag for the grill top if you want to store it in a bag but the lid does latch so it is not necessary.
The Camp Chef is easy to set up, cleanup, and is so versatile. I can switch from a grill to griddle and even pizza ovens. I will be doing homemade pizzas for my son's graduation party in a couple days and will repost pics.
Cons: Tiny bit heavy, get the roller bag. Does not come with leveling legs, buy the adjusters, they are cheap. Does not come with wind deflector, buy one, you will be glad you did. In summary, I would buy this again, came quick and cooks like a dream. Family thinks I'm a pure Chef now. :)
