I have enjoyed every installment of this series going back to 1984. This one is probably the worst, in terms of its value to future historians, while at the same time being very interesting because it deals with events that are so recent.
Probably the best section is the one dealing with various GOP candidates, how they decided to get in, and how they decided to get out, along with their opinions of what went wrong and why Trump was so unstoppable. Cruz's people's comments on the convention and Cruz's speech there were noteworthy, as were Christie's people's comments on his run at Rubio at the debate that ended up derailing both of them. I wish more had been said about when each individual candidate decided to get behind Trump as the inevitable nominee, but only Cruz's people were really asked about that.
The worst sections are those where the moderators bring in an "expert" and allow them to say things like "well of course Trump never wanted to win" without challenge or follow-up at all. Second worse sections are those where they allow Hillary's people to posit the most insane conspiracy theories as to why she lost, again without any follow up or cross examination at all.
For my own sense of history, I wish someone would have asked the Hillary people if they regretted not having her make more appearances. No one did, that I remember. I also would have liked for them to ask more about the events that happened at the 9-11 memorial. Nothing there either though. Nor on whether or not mocking "the coal people" was a good idea. By comparison, Trump's people are asked multiple times to go over and over his comments about McCain, Khan, Access Hollywood, etc. It is really obvious and actually kind of embarrassing that its so one-sided.
Anyway, there's really not enough here to make up a whole book that is worth reading. Maybe 50 pages of good material, if that, so I would suggest buying it used if you buy it at all.
