Don't have one? GET ONE! THIS ONE! For real. It is amazing and well worth it.
GET THIS! Seriously. I have convinced at least 20 other people to purchase this particular pocket saw. Admittedly, I purchased it mostly out of curiosity. Researched the crap out of it like I seem to do for anything lately. Decided on this one. WELL WORTH IT! Went for a little ATV adventure. Had a 10" tree fall across the path. The winch was not going to work on this one. Brought out my little pocket saw and was thoroughly impressed. Ripped through it in about 3 minutes or less. Yeah, I was dead tired, but DANG! It was awesome.Got back to the house and ordered another one.I wish I was compensated for this review. I did not receive my little booklet however. A little disappointed in that, but this deserves 5 stars all day long! If I had a punch card for how many I have sent to buy one of these in the last 2-3 weeks, I would have earned three more free.If you have a bug-out-bag and you do not have this, it is not a complete bag. I have three of these now. One for B.O.B. and two for the ATV's. Will more than likely purchase several more for Christmas! :-)

Got this on a whim to finish off some tree limbs that had partially broken under heavy snow earlier this winter. I don't want to have to stand on a ladder with a chainsaw. It works really well, tackling limbs up to about 6 inches around within a minute or two. Could definitely do much larger limbs if you have the desire or need, but would of course take longer. Very high quality and packs down really small in the included pouch. Handles are tough but comfortable, although I'd recommend using work gloves for added comfort if planning on using for a while. I'm hoping that I'll be able to rig up some rope and extend the handles so I can throw it over higher up limbs that I can't reach with the ladder, but would definitely buy another model like that if I could. I'm using this around the yard for tree trimming but I think it would really shine for camping/backpacking for firewood. Highly recommended.

This thing is awesome, cuts clean and fast, nice case and is fairly easy to use. I have already cut roughly 30+ logs of all different hardwoods live and dead 3-12inches in diameter, and it's only been 2 days. I want to see how much this thing can handle.
It will fall a standing tree, but be careful the chain can get pinched and take you down with the tree.
The only improvement I can see is thicker handles and a longer chain because cutting a log on the ground is awkward. I will let y'all know when I break it, it will happen eventually. I am not abusing it, but I am going to treat it like it's the only saw I have, and I still have ACRES of trees to punish. so lets see if it makes the cut.

Sharp, durable, rapid-cutting camp pocket saw. Not so good on limb cutting applications if the chain flips over (teeth facing away from cut) as you are in the middle of such cut. This happened to me as I was sawing a high up tree limb. In spite using it in the same manner as posted you tube videos the chainsaw jammed up on a 4 inch diameter limb and it took me hours to get the thing unstuck since it was so high up. Regardless, I think it is a decent product to use on things other than high overhead limbs. I should also mention that the wilderness survival booklet that was supposed to be included in the shipment was not in the shipped box.

Great saw works well going through 5-8 inch diameter trees. I wouldnt waste the time going through anything much bigger than that but the saw will handle it. Seems very well made and is a length of chainsaw right off a mororized chainsaw and is extremely sharp right out of the box. I bought this item to cut quad trails in the woods because it is very compact and portable when sheathed. It arrived on time with the emergency blanket and widerness guide advertised for free with it. The free wilderness guide is a download off the internet though so dont think you didnt get it, the company will email you a link for it.

Herewith my comments on the 26" Camping Pocket Chainsaw and the shipment:
The pocket chain saw and pull handles appears to be very well made and will become part of my survival kit. Packaging was appropriate and made from recyclable materials. The front snap carrying case itself is robust, but the small belt loop on the opposite side is fragile and will not survive normal usage - it's already coming loose with the single stitched, inadequately terminated, cotton (not polyester) thread. To correct this deficiency, the other, wider, strap, that is part of the front snap, should be carried all the way around the case, then adequately reinforced in an open section to form the belt loop. There was a nice mylar EME with a sealed bag inside the shipping box. I got the link to the short Wilderness Survival eBook but have not read that yet. In spite of the weak belt-loop on the otherwise well-made case, I still give this 5 stars for the chainsaw design.
Update December 2016: Per my suggestion, the vendor improved the carrying case and the belt strap is now carried around the case - I was sent a sample of this new case and its much stronger now with this enhancement.
NOTE: I paid full price for this item, it was NOT a discounted purchase!

I bought this just as an emergency gadget during all my camping trips. When I got the item, I tried it out in the backyard since the product description mentioned using it to trim branches in the yard. It worked great. I honestly didn't expect it to be that easy and simple to use. It cut so well, literally seconds for a branch of about 5" in diameter. I have to give it a 3 star because it has turned me into a lumberjack. I've been going around our yard to trim everything that I normally would have to ask a landscaping guy to clean up for me 😊 Love this pocket chainsaw.

This is the first time I ever used a pocket chain saw and I'll tell you I'm pretty impressed. It cuts at least twice as fast as a hand saw, because of the body mechanics: it's easier to pull then to push, and it cuts with every pull. Of course it's not a tool that will replace any cutting, because the branch/trunk needs to be completely immobilized, and you'll have to come up with a system to keep loose wood from turning. However, as light as it is and how easy it is to use and how fast it cuts and relatively low energy used I'm taking this saw with me backpacking from now on, and keeping it in the car in between the trips.
P.S. Oh yeah, it comes with an emergency blanket.
