There is no problem attaching this camera to a tripod, I have several tripods and it attached to all of them

Yes, just like any other camera. One can attach it to rigs, dolly, cranes and other base you would like no worries!!!!

Yes, if you look at the image of back of the camera you'll see a little trapezoid shape coming down under the screen. The threaded 1/4" hole is in the middle of that. It's centered with the lens, so that's a plus for panning.

Yes, all NEX camera have standard 1/4 inch tripod mounts

Yes you will find the standard tripod socket on the bottom of the camera.. sorry about the delay in this reply, my computer puts my amazon email in my junk folder. I have not tried to do any sort of a long exposure with this camera, it does not have a cable socket for the shutter.... Jim
