Well written, clear answers, and interesting puzzles. Overall, a very solid book.
I love every book is written by this author. One of his books is "Grapes of math". I have read that about 10 times. Its my true favorite book and I love it so much that I purchased 3 volumes of it and has a special place in my library and my heart. By the way it is sold for a small price of $9 at Amazon.com.
Mr. Bellos has a special way of teaching math subjects. It is clear by reading his books that he has well understood the subject himself. This is a very important point. I cannot recommend this author's masterpieces enough. By the way the price is quite fair
The "puzzles" involved are archaic, and while I may enjoy mathematics, I really don't want to cut out pieces of cardboard to solve something, or cut apart a plastic bag to solve another.
I was looking for a book of math puzzles, not a lecture on history involving the measurements of the 1800's.
Severely disappointed.
