An exclusive Basic Kit from CanaKit that includes the fastest model of the Raspberry Pi family - The Raspberry Pi 3 Model B.
The Raspberry Pi 3 Model B is the third generation Raspberry Pi and 10x faster than the first generation Raspberry Pi. Additionally, it incorporates built-in WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity.
To take full advantage of the improved power management on the Raspberry Pi 3 and provide even support for even more powerful devices on the USB ports, a 2.5A adapter is recommended. The included power supply in this kit incorporates a noise filter to provide the highest stability and comes with a 5-foot cable. This power supply can power the Raspberry Pi 3 and other USB accessories (such as most portable hard drives) without requiring an external powered USB hub.
The kit also includes a premium quality case specially designed for the Raspberry Pi 3.

It also runs Kodi flawlessly. So in addition to having all my favorite old school games, I can watch streaming movies and tv with Kodi and even control it with my cell phone.
I purchased this one with the case just because I wasn't sure that the 3D printed case I made was going to fit. 3D case fit like a glove, so if you have access to a 3D printer, there are hundreds of different case designs out on the internet that you can put together and save yourself about 10 bucks and add some style to this little device.
To sum it up, for the cost of this, plus an sd card of whatever size you want, you get every game system from 1970 to around 1998 and Kodi which can stream Youtube, Amazon, Netflix and anything else you can find an app to stream. I'd say in total, this sub $100.00 purchase is worth every bit of over $1000.00 worth of entertainment equipment.
From a retro gaming machine, to a media streaming device to a full Linux workstation, this little thing can handle it all.
The case, that this kit comes with, fits the Pi perfectly and is very solid, providing a good deal of protection.
The kit also comes with two heat sinks to help with thermal regulation and the power adapter fits perfectly and provides adequate power.
I'd definitely recommend this kit as it has everything you need to get started and is very reasonably priced.
The case is pretty nice. Lots of room, ports fit perfectly.
Loaded up a retropi OS for some old school gaming. Just waiting on my controller to be delivered! Can't wait. OS booted up quickly and had no issues whatsoever so far. I left the Pi running for a few hours to see if it'd heat up, but it felt fine. I haven't really put any pressure on it yet though, so once I get my controller and start gaming on it I may update this review
I do not expect any problems with the processor, but the case is certainly a poor design.
Okay, I re-ran the video and it supports my earlier comment about You-Tube videos. It is not clear that the action is to remove the bottom cover by pulling up the rest of the case! C'mon guys, would it be so hard to write an explanation? Also, I must have missed the section in the video where the heat sinks are attached. Is it there or did I miss it? Once again, too much time wasted watching a video with too little real information!
The main reason for the 2 stars is that the power adapter included with this package has a high pitch squeal that drives me crazy. Also case is a bit tricky to put together, there is a small lip on the microsd card side which the Raspberry Pi board must go above, before inserting into the case. I didn't find any instruction in the kit which pointed out this detail.
The heat sinks are good. The case is okay and power supply is functional, although annoying.
It works for me and I'm not going to return it. UPDATE: would consider purchasing this kit again, but more likely would choose to just buy the board and power the device and external drives with a powered USB hub.
