Mr. Britton does an excellent job of this piece. Unless he lives and works in L.A., his research is fantastic. He even has the Hollywood network's vernacular down pat. This is a new dimension for this writer and he does it well. It's a sensitive issue and his handling of it is unique.
Michael Briton presents a chilling portrait of the crass and cynical entertainment industry. Although he tries to redeem some of them, in reality there might not be any. The reader spirals downward into that pit and while the courage and strength of a few pulls one out, this might be our wishful thinking, like the end of a parable or fable.
A great and courageous read. Regardless on which side you're on, it will not leave you indifferent.
Well done, Michael Britton. and best of luck in the contest!
Richard Bard, Author of BRAINRUSH, 2011 ABNA QuarterFinalist
Michael, you did a great job. However, I did keep scratching my head wondering where this came from. It just didn't seem like something you would write but like I said before, I loved it!
Thank you for bringing this book to life.
What do I get to read next?
As if that weren't enough to fuel the tension of the book - rife with moral 'what ifs?' - the ruthless underside of Hollywood's elite and the unexpected blossoming of love are also explored, with satisfying payoff.
`Canceled' is a slam-dunk of an intro to Britton's work!
