I found myself saying those words more than once while reading this book. This was the first Josie Brown book I have read, but I will read more now. I was a bit confused for a while how the begining story line was going to merge with what appeared to be a totally separate story about a totally separate person but once it all started to fall into place it was a great book. The only thing I didn't like was the odd part about how the one lady became an agent to help fight terrorism, I think i missed something but that could have been because I was falling asleep at 1 am reading. I couldn't put it down. These are the exact books I love..Mystery, love, suspense, and action all in one. I really enjoyed how the Book actually followed Ben and not the candidate or his wife, even though it was really about them and getting to them. I can't wait to read more.
I have read several of Josie Brown's books and have yet to be disappointed. I really enjoyed the blend of suspense, corruption and romance wrapped up in politics. The characters are all well developed and relatable. I felt that the plot probably isn't too unlikely in today's political environment either. I was engrossed in the book right from the start. In fact, I would say that I did not read this one, but devoured it!
All of the above. Josie Brown keeps on giving. Masterful plot keeps you guessing. The story takes political back stabbing and greed to a new. Lowdown level. Family and blood can create monsters that should die.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading "The Candidate" by Josie Brown! The story kept me in suspense and I even found myself reading at 2am! One evening I was so tired but wanted to finish the chapter ...I woke up to the Kindle on top of my chest! Lol
