Product Description

We recommend candle tins for beginner candle makers. The solid sides hide any imperfections in a candle, and they are easy to use and transport. Height is 1 3/4 inches, diameter is 2 9/16 inches. For the small candle tins, 1 pound of soy wax will make approximately 5 candle tins.

I ordered 4 cases of these tins to re-do my spice collection. My array of spices was varied, as were the various containers they were all in. Here's what I was looking for in a spice tin: metal, small, air-tight, and opaque. Even though they are advertised as candle tins, they are GREAT as a spice tins! I used chalkboard labels on the lids to mark what was what, and glued tiny magnets to the bottom so that I could display all the spices on a metal board next to the fridge.

Only issue is that some are more than air-tight. I've had to fight with a couple to get the lid off! But after doing so, I sanded the lid and base a little and now they're easier to open.

I used them to hold essential oils mixed with coconut oil for homemade vapor rubs and such. Works great! I would recommend these.

These could be useful for so many things! I do use them to make candles, but also for herbal blends and bath salts. The lid stays on tightly, but isn't difficult to remove. Also, the 2.5" circular labels fit the top precisely, though the middle portion of the lid is slightly raised, this does not affect how well the label fits or stays in place. If you use 2" labels they will fit the raised portion perfectly.

These are quite small—about as big around as a can of condensed soup and about 1.5" high—but a tea sample from Adagio fits perfectly. Not 100% airtight, but close enough. It came with a dozen so I won't be needing more anytime soon, but I wish I did! Very handy.

For anyone considering buying these, they are 4 ounce containers. I know these things matter for candle makers! Hope this helps.

Now I know why this is for candles only. I whipped my shea butter lotions and used these as containers thinking it would be a good idea...it wasn't. Having to pull the top open after slathering lotion on your hands made it that much more difficult to open and close. But they're great containers though. Perfect for everything else but lotion. I would buy these again, just not for lotions.

I did not buy these for candle making so I cannot comment on that use.

I bought these containers because I am getting into cooking Indian food and needed some better containers for spices than the multiplicity of plastic bags that the spices I bought in Jackson Heights came in themselves. I looked pretty seriously at the traditional Indian box (masala dabba) both online and in person at Patel Brothers. I realized that I did not like that in the traditional box the individual spice containers have no lids and the masala dabbas I could find online that did have individual lids were VERY expensive. All I could think of whenever I looked at the traditional dabbas was a mental image of my knocking the whole thing off of my VERY tiny kitchen counter and everything spilling out on the floor...

These containers are a good size for keeping a decent quantity of spices for somewhat regular use. I don't use them every day, maybe a few times a week at most. I like that I don't have to refill the containers after every use but that they are small enough to keep all of them in a single 64oz plastic storage box (they fit perfectly in the Lock&Lock 64-Fluid Ounce Rectangular Food Container, Tall, 7.9-Cup which I also purchased here on Amazon). This system is not as aesthetically pleasing as the traditional masala dabba but so far (the past few months) has worked very well for my needs.

these are perfect for pouring little candles into. I just heat my candle wax up add fragrance of my choice and color. makes a nice travel candle or a added little extra in my gift sets. The best feature that puts these over some others I have bought in th epast are the little feet bumps on the bottom. air can flow under the candle to help cool the base. The draw back of this is that it is hard for me to make my candle safety stickers sit flush on the bottom, but I still favor these over flat bottomed holders.
