Wiggs delights with this Christmas-themed installment in her Lakeshore Chronicles contemporary series (after Return to Willow Lake). Darcy Fitzgerald is still reeling from her divorce from Huntley Collins, a situation complicated by the fact that Darcy's sister is married to Huntley's brother. When Darcy meets single dad Logan O'Donnell, she is unwilling to get involved with a man who already has a child, but soon she and Logan realize they can't easily ignore their mutual attraction. With the romantic backdrop of falling snow and Christmas lights, Logan's upstate New York ski lodge is the perfect setting for their sizzling attraction to renew. Darcy's fierce independence as a sports marketing executive and expert snowboarder gives her special appeal, as her successful professional exterior hides her vulnerability. The evolution of Darcy and Logan's relationship makes enduring love believable. (Nov.) --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

Darcy Fitzgerald is still reeling in the aftershock of her divorce from her unfaithful husband, Huntley Collins. She is not ready for involvement with another man, especially one with a child, but when her best friend India introduces her to her brother Logan, Darcy cannot deny she is attracted to him.
The Fitzgerald’s and the Collins’ families go way back and they vacation and do holidays together. Darcy’s sister is married to her ex’s brother, and Darcy cannot bring herself to celebrating the holidays with her family since Huntley will be there. When India invites her to spend the holidays with her family, she accepts.
Will their pasts drive Logan and Darcy apart, or can the romantic backdrop of the wintry ski resort and the spirit of creating a Christmas to remember for Charlie and his cousins allow them to drop their guard?
This is a delightful read. Susan Wiggs is a master storyteller, and CANDLELIGHT CHRISTMAS is no exception. Her characters are very believable and the plot has enough detail to keep interest high without overwhelming the reader. It is a quick read, just right for the busy holidays.

Meeting him through his sister is Darcy Fitzgerald, desperate to avoid a holiday with her family because her ex-, who cheated on her, still attends those gatherings. When she goes to Florida for Thanksgiving, Logan discovers she's a better athlete than he, has a more interesting job, and she challenges him in ways other women have not. But he has a child, and she's been badly burned by her ex- and his children. She vows never to get involved with another single father. A vow that is made to be broken by very cute 10-yr-old Charlie, who shares, with his father, a kind of cuteness that worms its way into Darcy's heart.
What will happen at Christmas if Thanksgiving could be so right? Both of these adults have issues with their extended families, and getting this couple together also means getting the families together. What better place than on the shores of Willow Lake? The story ends with the same sparkle as the sun on the ice and snow.
I keep reading these books even when they are not too exciting. It is like a distant family member you hope by reading to get news of the primary character in this case Daisy and her fabulous pilot husband. Etc.
haracters and the interesting story lines and the importance she places on the family unit. Cannot wait for next one.
