The talented authors here seem to be having a grand time releasing this work together and the different story lines seem to compliment one another while covering vastly different characters and situations. One might anticipate competieness between the writers, but instead there is a profound collegiality.
Eileen Rendahl explores an abnormal and somewhat scary wedding. Her couple join forces to ensure their wedding success and a relationship that will linger in your mind, Cindi Faria blazes in with a story about a fire fighter who is also a hot Latin dancer. Puns intended.
The currently popular theme of older woman, younger man is presented by Loucinda McGary in New Year's Endeavor. Kate Lockeridge and Jill Janes add to the holiday romance with stories very different from the rest.
The highlight of the anthology is for me the work of a emerging author named Grace Conley. I feel sure we will hear more from her in the future, Her book is entitled A Christmas Weekend: A Heart's Delight. Grace's use of language is captivating and moves along in a fashion unlike most new authors. Small town California serves as the backdrop of this tale of San Francisco police officer, Joe Magiano and his love for his future wife. The story is reminiscent of the successful film, Same time Next Year, but condensed into a weekend. The ending is warm and a feel good moment.
