Snow Belle, 3 stars - A quick, easy to read romance that mostly holds the reader's attention. The characters are interesting and believable and their dialog is realistic, except Haley. Haley's Texan speak is outdated and forced, not flowing or natural. And it's horned toad, not bullfrog; there's more errors. She's also stubborn to the point of stupidity since she's a fish out of water and doesn't communicate with others. Haley isn't likable since she is portrayed as backward, reactive and definitely clueless. Her character should have been better, which would have improved the story immensely, along with real Texan speak and facts.
There's an overview, which I appreciate knowing what a story is about before I read it. What I didn't appreciate was the description of Texas, around 49 percent into the story. We may curse the triple-digit temperatures in July and August during droughts, and the Snowbirds, but not the beauty of our state. This book needs editing, too. I found this book on a website giving away freebies.
I received an ARC of this title, but the review is my opinion.
