great reference for dog massage
on August 8, 2017
i wish i would have gotten the print version instead of the kindle version but i have tried it on my dog and although she just loves all rubs and attention i believe it helps. i have a 3 year old lab with hip dysplasia and i'd do anything to help her feel better. this combines the loving rubs that she lives for and the muscle rubs that help her body feel better too. the book explains how to find the muscles and the types of massage to do for them so it helps you figure it out without someone standing in front of you pointing where to rub.
because my dog has hip problems i have mostly focused on her back end but this helped me see the whole body as one, perhaps over compensating for where she does hurt. when i would try to do the massage she kept giving me her front paws but then i thought just go with it and that's when i noticed her back wasn't so hunched over when she was walking after.
i have purchased several books on this topic and this one is by far the most informative and easiest to apply.
