This guide is remarkably clear and informative without being arcane. I find it tremendously useful in orienting me to my first serious digital camera. I am experienced with film photography but need familiarization with the vast vocabulary of digital photography. I was very pleased that this guide uses abbreviations minimally. It is not exhaustive on the subject and doesn't pretend to be. Exploiting my "new" camera is a challenge. This volume is helping me to overcome it. I expect to read other guides to clarify obscure points.

I found this book easier to use than the camera's user manual, the book reads well and is generally uncomplicated but you have to use the camera - reading it and then going to the camera is a waste of time - you simply won't remember and won't be able to apply it.
