I love painting on this Canson paper! It's 9x12, and I use it folded in half to make a card. It makes a sturdy, 6x9 card. (It could certainly be framed by the recipient, but 6x9 is not a standard size, so you could always cut 1" off the long side before you fold/paint it, to make 6x8).
What I do is tape them onto the back of an 11x14 canvas board to stable them for painting. And I can use my easel then, too.
I drew a blue line on the fish painting to represent where I place the artists tape, right along the fold seam, so you can paint a nice clean edge, and it keeps the back of the card clean during painting, unless you are just super wild with your brush strokes! 😂
They make such nice cards. I love giving these out to my friends.
Oh, and it varnishes nice, too. Looks really beautiful varnished.
PS, I'm using acrylic, with very little water. If you add lots of water to your acrylic, these will warp, they are paper after all. But as you can see in the photo, no problem with them drying nice and flat in acrylic with little water.
