Other than being happily surprised about the size, I'm really impressed with the paper. It's nice and thick and hasn't buckled with light to medium use of water. Both regular brushes and water brushes work well as do the variety of paints I've tried. It's pretty textured, which I often enjoy, but I do wish they'd offer a hot pressed variety of this book just so I could pick and choose based on what I'm working on. That's not a flaw with this book, though, and this exceeds all my expectations. I also wish it had more pages, but I'll settle for buying new ones more often because this is just that good!
The paper has texture that is the same on both sides and withstands plently of water used on the page. My first page was a little distorted but managed to be flatten down by placing another book on top of it. The lift on the edges was very minor, you could still work on the otherside, I always return to work on it after its completely flat.
You can tear the pages out and tape them back in later on the tear flap, after you scanned or show cased your work.
I highly recommend this watercolor paper book, I wish I found it sooner honestly.
The only problem I had was that it warped when I used it with watercolors. Which was to be expected while still in the book form with no way to control that. If you take the paper out and tape it to a proper work surface it will be fine. I will definitely buy this again.
