I can't begin to tell you what a wonderful job Marie Force did with her writing skills and vivid imagination. It's quite refreshing to read about a mature couple possibly finding love again the second time around (not with each other). Patrick's and Mary's story began at Will and Cameron's wedding. Patrick is Cameron's father and Mary works at the store in Butler, Vermont for Lincoln and Molly. Their story starts off making you feel happy, hopeful, and excited about starting a new possible romance.
You get to learn about the loss of Patrick's first wife, Cameron's mother, after giving birth to Cameron. Ali, Cameron's mom, was his first love. He never felt the same after her passing. He focused on continuing to build his business and became a player because he never felt what he felt for his wife with another woman until Mary. Mary has lived her life independently and successfully without a man all of her adult life.
I loved how in their first intimate moment after weeks of courtship over the phone they found passion, and intimacy so deep that they also had laughter and honesty! Their relationship continues to build over distance and time spent apart. He's a billionaire business man living in NY city and she's in Butler, Vermont. He firmly establishes himself in her heart with gifts when he's away, overnight visits between the two of them by helicopter, and daily conversation over the phone. It was amazing to be a bystander. Each chapter begins with a quote that brings so much meaning to that chapter.
Will Patrick and Mary be able to build a happily ever after? Mary is pretty independent and very happy to be a part of the Abbott family. She's also happy with the role she plays in the Butler community. Patrick is pretty stubborn and determined to have Mary in his life full time. Cameron told her Dad to keep his hands and the rest of his body parts away from Mary at her wedding. How is she going to take the news? What role will Fred the Moose play in this story????
It was also great to find out what was happening with Will and Cameron, Colton and Lucy, Hunter, Ella, Lincoln, Molly, Charley, Max and Elmer. Most of the latest happenings were happy with a little bit of sadness in another.
This is a must read!"
