Rose and Dakota are both looking for more when they agreed to go on a trip to Woodstock with friends. Separately they are wanting. When they bump into each other after Rose has found shelter, unbeknown to her, under The Soul Tree, they feel the sparks. When they touch later, in a very muddy moment, they know the sparks to be true. They are both not in a position to continue what would happen with those sparks, but they never forget.
Fast forward several years and you get the Second Chance story. I look for these stories. They fill my heart with gladness. And this story of second (maybe third) chances did just that. I am full. And ready for the next story that The Soul Tree has to offer.

5 out of 5 stars
The story Can't Stop the Music (The Soul Mate Tree Book 2) by C D Hersh is a contemporary romance book. This is the love story of Rose and Dakota. Rose went to Woodstock alone. She had been dumped by her current boyfriend because of her morals. While there a magical tree grants her wish to find the man of her dreams. Then she loses him before she knows he is the one. Dakota met the girl of his dreams at Woodstock, however, loses her when a jealous wannabe girlfriend drives them apart. He sees a disappearing tree that promises him true love, however, a search for Rose comes up empty. They came together once. can they find each other again?
This is a story that will have you believing in magic and especially magic trees. I got that fuzzy feeling when reading that comes with an amazing romance and the fight to keep love alive. It is nothing short of a miracle, or magic, that Rose and Dakota find each other again. Rose searched for him for so long and almost settled down with another as she believed he was lost to her forever. She is a wonderful teacher and fights for what she believes in. Dakota knows that he let the love of his life get away. When they finally meet again he has no intention of letting her go. I like that he also is a teacher and believes that his students need to hear all sorts of music, not just what is in the lesson plans. I highly recommend this book to anyone who believes in true love, soul mates, and the power of magic. I received a copy of this book and voluntarily reviewed it.
"Can’t Stop the Music" by C.D. Hersh is Book 2 in the ‘Soul Mate Tree’ series and features Rosemary Sterling who ALMOST has a life-changing encounter at Woodstock but still manages to enjoy both listening to and making music while soaking up the ambience. A mystical encounter with an otherworldly tree gives her a souvenir to treasure until the promise she is given comes to fruition. When the man who captured her attention at Woodstock comes into her life again, Rosemary must decide whether to have the courage to break out of her rut, but the man’s secrets may destroy their fledgling relationship before it has time to truly take root in their lives.
This story provides a view of the remarkable Woodstock celebration that encompassed so many lives and altered the way folks looked at the world and celebrated music. I think the authors did a great job of evoking the time period and the breadth of attitudes that reflected the differing priorities of various strata of society. One has to be prepared to suspend disbelief with respect to a couple of elements and to be prepared to relax and enjoy this somewhat meandering tale that channels the laid-back culture of the sixties then juxtaposes it with the complications and stresses of modern life. Some of the twists and turns were a little forced for me, but I definitely was tempted to walk around making the peace sign and chanting, “make love not war” after reading this story.
