Digitally re-mastered two-fer containing a pair of albums from the Jazz vocalist. Released in 1970, Can't Take My Eyes Off of You continued a tradition that had been the staple of Nancy's late '60s albums for Capitol Records by taking contemporary compositions of the day and giving them her own distinctive treatment. The title track - Nancy's reading of the Frankie Valli & Four Seasons' hit single - was originally on her 1969 LP Hurt So Bad, receiving such strong US airplay that it was also used for the 28th album she recorded since 1959. Looking for a new approach, Nancy, long-time producer David Cavanaugh and Capitol Records hired the then-up-and-coming Philly-based production team of Kenny Gamble & Leon Huff to oversee her 1971 recording Now I'm a Woman. Working with arrangers Thom Bell, Bobby Martin and Lenny Pakula, the LP featured a mix of R&B-oriented songs (some written specifically for Nancy) and contemporary hits of the day such as 'Bridge Over Troubled Water' and 'Make It with You.' SoulMusic Records has led the way bringing the greatest releases from Nancy Wilson with a number of first-rate exciting 2-fer collections from the seventies, now "Can't Take My Eyes Off You/Now I'm A Woman" from 1970 is at the starting point when Nancy Wilson really stretched to new musical horizons in her recorded works. "Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You" is a great mix of songs all done to perfection by the great song stylist, completely peak form in a contemporary mix of current composers of the day. Nobody can get inside a "story song" quite like Miss Wilson, Leonard Cohen classic "Suzanne" is a haunting and mesmerizing experience showing what a great interpreter of song the legendary lady is...supremely soulful "Mixed-Up Girl" and "This Girl Is A Women Now" make one wonder why Nancy didn't cross over more to Pop & R&B Charts, with exposure she easily would have had a number of Top Ten hits from this collection alone, totally a lost opportunity but wonderful all these years later to be able to enjoy this beautifully remastered musical treasure.

A richly dramatic story song "The Long And Winding Road" takes the listener down the road in a deeply passionate way never experienced before or since in this classic song, "Bridge Over Troubled Water" becomes a soaring epic that is thrilling to experience, another stunning original "Let's Fall In Love All Over" would have soared up R&B Charts if given exposure...clearly Nancy Wilson hits new heights throughout this remarkable collection both vocally and emotionally, each and every song is taken to the max...intensely passionate "How Many Broken Wings" features a tremendous vocal performance with a gospel-edge that is electrifying to experience, "Make It With You" smooth and mesmerizing with a radio friendly sound that would taken this gem of a performance to the top of the charts.
