They were so electric, their chemistry practically singing the pages. But they were also lost. He in her and she in her past, her fears. He kept pushing through those walls, finding her heart and grabbing hold for dear life. Together, they were stronger.
Josh has a heart of gold, an unsung hero. For what I will not say but he earned my respect a hundred times over. His ability to take his feelings and put them into words and into his art, as well as his every action, make him one of my favorite male characters. She can't say no, because he just won't let her. She will know he cares because it's in his eyes, his actions, his creations. He's a work of art himself.
Elle is no wilting flower. She's afraid but when her heart's desire has been threatened she makes the most painful decision. She is stronger than her demons and her father. She's stronger with Josh.
These characters just spoke to me. I had to stop reading this afternoon because I hated what was happening. But, truthfully, though I hated it, it was vital to the story and overcoming fears and seeing what's right there in front of you and going after everything you deserve, the only thing you want.
Josh is my new book boyfriend. Seriously. He's about as perfect as a male hero has a right to be. He's HOT, intelligent, artistic (damn, that's sexy), successful, and the best part - he's not a jerk. Josh is a gentleman. I LOVED that about him. Confident and driven, he doesn't need to be arrogant or prideful in order to get what he wants. And he wants Elle. (Oh, that delicious shiver after finishing this book will definitely stay with you).
Elle is a not your typical heroine. She's broken and harbors a painful past. I liked that about her character. She was real. Perfect is boring. Instead what we got with her was a slow shocking reveal that endeared and redeemed her character by the end. People who have been hurt and broken make mistakes and I'm partial to second chance stories and redemption. This one doesn't disappoint.
Mr. Chance excels at storytelling. He builds up with careful intensity and deftly manages to keep the reader engaged from start to finish. I found the side characters and complex nature of the relationship of family and friends to enhance the main romance between Josh and Elle. They were written as flawlessly as the rest of the novel. It's a testament to the author's creative genius that the love story between Josh and Elle comes alive as you read and sucks you in until you're finished. I put life on hold because I couldn't put Canvas down. It's THAT good.
There's plenty of heat between Josh and Elle and I have to admit, those intimate scenes were HOT. Written from dual perspectives, Canvas brings you into the mind of both characters which is a favorite for me. I prefer to know what's going on in both of their minds and it adds to the depth and richness of the story. A faced paced and compelling read, you'll be hooked from the start. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
If you aren't reading Jacob Chance, YOU SHOULD BE.

Josh was a sweet well mattered guy, who fell for his best friend. I did love Josh’s brothers and the characters from the previous books. Sorry, I just didn’t love this one.
