Keith Lambert is the hockey captain of the Flyers and he has a girlfriend, Phoebe, he absolutely love and adores. He thinks his life is complete and perfect, until everything changes within a day. Now, he's no longer captain of the Flyers, he's been traded to the San Diego Scorpions. Not only that, but his girlfriend, who he thought he loved and loved him, doesn't want to make the move with him. She doesn't really love him after all.
Keith struggles being alone in a new town, until he meets Kelly, the take out delivery girl. Thinking he won't see her again he's shocked when he sees her on the rink for ice girl tryouts. He think it's fate, but Kelly isn't feeling the same way. Having being burnt in the past by guys she cared about, she's scared of a relationship.
Can Keith convince her that she should take a chance with him? That they are meant to be?
I recommend this book to everyone. A great hockey romance!
This read was somewhat hard to follow for me at times. Though it is a good read it didn't have the feelings of warm and fuzzy all over. I felt for the characters Keith and Kelly the heartache of Kelly and the reserve of having feelings right off the bat for Keith. I felt her hurt and could understand it but at the same time it was a bit too much. Keith on the other hand was sexy and awesome in his own right he stood up for Kelly right off the bat and I thought that was just sweet as pie.
The sex was rather tame for me but romantic at the same time.
And the beginning did not disappoint. I skipped over the hockey definitions in the front, because I didn't need them. But I did think it was a good tactic to include them, because I'm thinking a large portion of readers will find them helpful. The game play scenes are written well, and I can envision the moves being described as if I'm actually watching them executed on the ice. The author clearly knows something about hockey.
Which is why my inner hockey geek was so dismayed when things spiraled downward from there. I really don't like when reality and fiction mix to extremes in any book, but this was more than that. First off, she matched two real life teams in the Stanley Cup finals who have not met there, then she had a team win it all that never has in their modern day incarnation. Then, she added a completely made up team to the NHL and made me want to scream.
There are already there real NHL teams in California. Why make up a fourth?
Okay, okay, maybe this is a book that takes place in a alternate dimension, or sometime in the near future. But why act like the made up team has been around for years and that they are a real contender? How about making an expansion team and setting them in Las Vegas (which has actually been rumored)? Then write a series about them building their team from the ground up, establishing a fan base, and finding love during the off-season.Read more ›

Had read the books prior to the prequel so it was nice to "go back" and get some background!Published 2 months ago by Amazon Customer
Just some basic get to know you stuff.
A little drama to whet your appetite.
Looking forward to the rest of the series.
This was a cute and short read. I think the chemistry between the main characters is good. The supporting characters were fun too.Published 10 months ago by Cheryl
This was not a bad read. Short and sweet. Felt a little rushed but enjoyed the relationship between Kelly and Keith.Published 10 months ago by Cath
