I tend to get lost in a book and literally become the characters. This was no different. I can't wait for the next book from ja'nese and hope is the continuation of Caramel Surprise!!
There is a lot happening in the story so it kept my interest. Strong female characters are a feature I enjoy in novels, novellas and short stories.
The story ends with hope and questions that beg for more.
During a normal busy day, Sandra takes a message for Bruce. Ricardo is in town and wants Bruce to know. Later during the week, Sandra meets Rick at Midnight Confessions, special musical event thrown by Coffee Confession. She is pleasantly surprised to find that the smooth baritone voice of Ricardo is that of Rick. Sandra thinks she could get used to this dating thing again, and get used to Rick.
I enjoyed this story from Ja'Nese Dixon. However, I felt it was a bit incomplete and left me wanting more. With that said, I think Caramel Surprise has the makings of a standalone novel that will be just as good as Black Diamond, a novel by Ms. Dixon. As a matter of fact, I'm going to wait on that full novel. Nice writing Ms. Dixon.
