I did not buy these Tenergy AA 3.2V 400mAh LiFePO4 Rechargeable Batteries but I see that many customers wrongfully complained about the size of these batteries being too long than they should be, so I have to point out the fact that there is absolutely nothing wrong with the size of these batteries and that their giving one star to this product is both wrong and inappropriate.

Actually all those customers were looking for 3.2 Volt 400 mAh LiFePO4 14430 battery which is NOT AA size (See List of battery sizes-Wikipedia).AA size has a standard length (or height) of 1.99 inches. If a battery is only 1.5 inches long, then it is not a AA size battery. Some websites describes the 14430 battery as 4/5 AA size. That only adds confusion to some customs who do not know what the 4/5 stands for.

Since the description of these Tenergy batteries does mention AA and the length to be 1.910 (inches), those customers should blame themselves and the manufacturers who use batteries of non-standard size instead of blaming it on the Tenergy AA size batteries.

Even though I have not used the Tenergy AA 3.2V 400mAh LiFePO4 Rechargeable Batteries, I did use lots of Tenergy 1.5 Volt alkaline batteries and some 1.2 V NI-MH rechargeable batteries. I found them having much better quality and power than the batteries of some very expensive brands. I believe these AA size Tenergy 3.2V 400mAh LiFePO4 Rechargeable Batteries are as good as the 5 stars reviews say that they are.
Customer William William who gave the Tenergy company 5 stars says "I ordered the wrong batteries and returned and received a full refund with no problems very quickly. I would order from this company again. Thank You! " So, there is no reason for those customers to blame the company either.
I think Amazon should delete one star reviews from customers who ordered the wrong product due to their own fault when the company has posted correct and non-misleading information for its product.

for years there was just the std 1.2v AA battery. our good solar accent lights are about three years old, time for new batteries. upon opening and reading the fine print found out they weren't normal AA batteries but rather 3.2 volt. searched Amazon and found just a handful of options. these were the best priced of the lot and by a substantial $$$ amount. so if you think something might be wrong with your solar lights as you've put brand new AA rechargeable batteries in yet still they don't work? read the fine print on the old batteries and odds are they will read 3.2 not 1.2-1.7 volts even if the batteries themselves look identical at first glance, but they aren't. also don't get hung up on MaH except for std AA batteries. for the more power 3.2-3.7 batteries (are interchangeable at that voltage for solar lights) MaH are but a minor concern at this time simply because there are so few options currently out there that aren't outrageously expensive. so my advice, focus on the volts first, price second and if on the off chance you do find a higher voltage AA rechargeable battery with a higher MaH rating then you can decide if the higher price is worth it or not.

NOTE-store unused batteries in a cool dry place to make them last longer e.g. the vegetable drawer in your refrigerator, it really does make a big difference. heat kills batteries in use, storage or otherwise.

I purchased some Solar Lights at Sam's club and they worked great for about 2 years then I began experiencing some difficulties with the batteries. Because of the odd Volts and MAmps they were not available at my local hardware stores or retail locations including a specialty battery store... These worked perfectly! Thank you!

Had about a month now, lights are all working great. The AA Lithium batteries are very hard to find, these work great in my Westinghouse Solar lights.

Made my electronic Nerf gun (Stampede) twice as good in combination with an upgraded spring. These LiFePo 3.2 Volt AA replaced the D batteries, and allow my blaster to perform much better using a soldered-on 4-battery tray in the D-battery tray. These are easy to recharge too in my Nite ore D4 charger, all I have to do is hold the button down to manually input the Lithium Iron Phosphate 4 batteries and presto, good to go again after it's charged.

It is important to understand that this battery, although dimensionally the same as a AA battery, has almost 3 times the voltage of a rechargeable NiMH battery: 1.2V vs 3.2V. Actually at full charge, the Tenergy Solar Tech AA 3.2V 400mAh LiFePO4 rechargeable batteries measure up to 4.2V no load! Be careful putting them in any electronics rated for standard AA batteries. I had a quantity of single cell AA LED flashlights. Most driver circuitry for LED flashlights will accept a range of input voltages. Generally, but not always, single cell driver circuitry will accommodate up to a single CR123 or 18650 at 3.2V. In the case of the flashlight hosts I had, designed for 1.5VAA, the 3.2VAA made the LED much brighter but did not overload the driver or LED. LiFePO4's do not have the storage capacity of a standard LiON battery, but they are much safer and have up to twice the number of recharges. Mag light offer different voltage incandescent blubs, so it is possible to adapt a 2 cell 3V flashlight to a 6V by just changing the bulb. However, if this battery was put into an electronic device such as a CD player, the device will most likely be ruined. Use with care.
