The big take away of Career Moves is that to be valuable in your job, you must bring value to the job first. Sometimes it is more about changing who YOU are in the job, and looking for unique and innovative ways to support and benefit the others in the organization. By doing this, you become as asset to the company.
Throughout the book there are questions to ask yourself that will help guide you on your journey and help you focus on your own strengths, as well as networking and finding your purpose.
Career Moves is a must-read for anyone currently in a job and wants to be more successful, as well as someone who want to learn how to put their best selves forward in a new job.
Bravo to Dondi Scumaci for a much-needed job navigation tool!
Using a unique format Dondi introduces Zoe. In the first chapter Zoe has taken an entry level position. Zoe relates her step by step strategy for developing the career she was destined for. Zoe becomes a composite character and a pattern for success. Dondi challenges the reader to build on their experiences, on the lessons learned, the differences they've made, how to leverage opportunities, and the importance of creating enduring value.
Although the book is directed to helping women develop their careers, the principles Dondi presents are equally applicable for anyone seeking confidence, success, and security during times of economic crisis and in a climate of staggering unemployment.
This attractive hard bound edition insures that the book will be a valued edition to the reader's library as well as a treasured reference for frequent visits for inspiration and motivation during the journey to career satisfaction and personal success.
Dondi's writing is bold. "Career Moves" is a high impact guide to breaking self-imposed limitations, determining a new mindset, to take control, and to maximize your strengths to accomplishing your fullest potential.
In Career Moves, Dondi Scumaci has created the perfect every person's guide to managing your career and your future. From examining our beliefs about our professional selves and our career path, to suggesting actions to guide our careers more carefully to just plain 'how-to's' on top priorities for finding the best career path to match our strengths and loves, Dondi gives the guidance we all need to take back control of our professional selves.
Career Moves is a must read for all of us. Everyone will find valuable insights into focusing our professional paths to create happy and prosperous Career Moves toward our own success!
This is a must read book and I think it should be assigned in high school. I loved chapter 5 as I love networking and masterminding, eventhough I am new on that, and how great it is that I can learn of this too with this reading. It is a very wide guide Dondi Scumaci gives us here, many important topics, as the law of value for example, brilliant people quotes and the public anouncements are just fantastic, I loved them.
I actually found a job and I did great in the interview as I got new perspectives of being an excellent employee. This book is a great manual for having success in our jobs.
I have learned about branding myself and finding what is that I have that distinguishes me. THIS IS GREAT.
