This is an easy solution if you need a grab bar in a shower or somewhere but don't want to drill holes to install a permanent bar. The little suction locks work well for most situations. It's not really for the case where someone with any strength needed to grab and hold on in the middle of a fall - I think the force of something like that might be a bit too much. But it's great to use for someone that just needs to steady themselves while in the shower or tub. And once the need for the grab bar is over, it can easily be removed with no damage to your tile, etc.
This our 2nd Carex safety suction safety bar. The other one was the larger one. After our initial purchase of the larger one it worked so well we ordered the smaller one with excellent results. The suction on this brand easy truly amazing and you will not be disappointed. It has an indicator color feature in the event the suction disables. We have had the initial one in place for over 3 months without a failure. You need a smooth surface like fiberglass and it works fantastic . You should always check the indicator feature for safety . This is a great product!
This shorter .75 grip has great gripping; stays up forever and provides a reassuring handle for helping me feel secure. So far it has not released. I had to return the longer one. I tried putting it upright, at a slant, and straight across but it would not grip. The little one is powerful and I can't remove it at all. I noticed on the one that would not stick that one pad had a flaw so I returned it. l think when they are made right they work but if something goes wrong in the manufacturing process they don't adhere properly.
This thing saved my life when a shower stool that I bought decided to give up mid shower. Extremely glad I purchased! Would reccomend to anybody that has stability issues or just needs something to grab onto getting into/out of the shower. I weight over 200lb and I feel safe grabbing on to this thing and it really held up when I needed it to the most. Obviously it's not meant for your full weight to be able to hang from it so don't think that's what I'm saying but it works great for me to grab on and pull myself up on one leg since I had foot surgery.
LOVE this handle. It's the perfect size to balance when in the shower or I suppose the bathtub, especially when getting in and out or lifting one foot. It isn't meant to support a person, only for balance. I cleaned the tiles as it describes, then I wiped them with alcohol. After the area dried, I pressed the handle and locked it in place. It has not moved at all. I may need another at some point. Perfect!
I bought these as backups for ones already in use from earlier purchases. The older ones are of a different brand, but I expect these to perform about the same. They provide the support I need at this stage of my life. Installing true grab bars in my shower would require a major project. Occasionally, the older bars come loose and fall to the floor, but are easy to reinstall. However, one did break when it fell, causing me to want backups on hand. Luckily, I had a backup for the one that broke. Overall, I am satisfied with this type product and willing to deal with the occasional mishap.
Works well. Sturdy and easy to grasp. Suction indicator a thoughtful extra. Gripping performance totally dependent on the surface attached to. It must be seamless, smooth and very clean. My unit has been firmly in place since I installed it on the fiberglass shower line, three weeks now, after cleaning liner area with rubbing alcohol.
Exactly what I needed. I bought two of these and also one of the longer models for my shower. The tub/shower has the enclosure (plastic/fiberglass) not tile. I cleaned the places where I wanted to put the grip bars, moistened the suction cups and put them in place, then pushed down the lever to lock it in place. I had considered the bars that actually have to be screwed in place but this is so much better - go up and can easily be removed, but when up you can count on them.
They are as solid as if they were bolted into the wall. Been up for two weeks now and I expect that they will remain secure until I release the levers and take them off. I'm having a knee replacement surgery and I wanted to feel that I had something secure to grab for balance in the shower.
