Who doesn’t LOVE Carhartt? This is the third Jacket I have purchased for my husband; he is 5’7 and avg. medium build. This jacket fits him perfectly the length to waist is perfect and so is the arm length. He is able to wear it by itself or he can even zip up with a heavy sweater or sweatshirt underneath. The Sherpa lining in the body is super warm. The jacket includes a left-chest pocket with zipper closure, plus an inside pocket as well as two lower-front pockets with zipper closures. The color lies flat and does not curl up. There are snaps at the sides of waist so you can adjust size by about an inch or so tighter or looser, and the same around wrists. These jackets are tough and durable. They last my husband about two years, while doing rugged work; he starts to get fraying around the cuffs at the wrist and waist. The jacket is still good for outside work, but I just buy a new one for going out in “public” without a beat-up worn in jacket! But that’s totally by preference there.

I returned this jacket, although I liked everything about it, except the fact that it fit too short. I am fairly tall but not too tall (6'2") and the waist was just a little too high for my liking.

I bought this primarily as a mid-weight motorcycle jacket, after trying on several types and sizes of Carhartt's jackets and others in local department stores. I saved almost 20% with Amazon over the cheapest I could find it in any of the major chain stores. It's lighter and cooler than leather, and more wind-resistant and hardwearing than denim, which makes it ideal for just about anything outdoors. It is as practical and versatile as it looks, the canvas blocks wind well even at 60 mph, and it resists rain for the first 15 or 20 minutes. With the barebones blanket lining, it dries quickly and you can throw it in a tumble dryer (says so on the label, too) if you're in a hurry.

I'm 6'1" and bought the tall size for the longer sleeves, which make a big difference wearing it on the bike - no gap between sleeves and gloves. I wore it to do some gardening in the rain, and was so impressed I bought a flannel-quilted hooded version specifically for working around the outside of the house.

I washed the jacket twice in the home washing machine before I wore it, to remove any excess dye and tease out any loose threads that need burning off. The colour took on an interesting marble-like patina, which I think adds character. I have no idea if this is common - it don't happen with Carhartt's dungarees - or if I used too much laundry powder on a warm cycle, but I think it looks good, albeit unexpectedly.

The blanket lining is also practical, warm enough, but this is a jacket that is only going to keep you just so warm without enough layers underneath.

If this jacket ever wears out, I'll buy another just like it. That's about as good as I can say about anything.

When I received this jacket in Moss Green, I loved it. First thing I did was spray a can of ScotchGuard on it to seal it up and make it water resistant, then on it went for it's first work out. The jacket was warm, and definitely sturdy. Carhartt products are not flimsy. I wear a small to medium shirt, and ordered a medium jacket. It fits fine, but it is a bit snug with a sweatshirt on underneath, but I'm sure a large would be much too big for me. But if you're on the edge of a size and don't know, definitely go with the larger. I find that their pants and other clothes usually run pretty small in size compared to other work/denim clothing brands like Levis and Dickies. The inside is lined with a nice wool blanket like material and is extra warm. Snaps at the waist to make it a tighter waistline if you want, Just a very good, quality jacket and you can't beat the price. May go ahead and order one in Tan for next year.

I bought this as a Birthday gift for my Father. He turned 67 and was still wearing this awkward "Members Only" looking jacket, so I figured this would be a great transition. Perfectly functional, Carhartt never goes out of style. Great for California mornings and walking around at night. Warm, but not too heavy. Sturdy, but not too bulky. It's pretty much a flawless jacket. He loves it and wears it every day. He tells me all the time people walk past him and compliment his Carhartt. I bought the "XL - Tall" because he is 6 feet, 2 inches tall and weighs 220lbs. Fits him great.

Nice rugged jacket be arm enough for a winter coat in Iowa if you wear a sweater under it. Also works as a fall jacket.

Only gripe is that the cut of the body is pretty short. I'm not super tall (5'11) and while the sleeves are just right (I wear 35 inch shirts), the body often leaves a bit if my shirt exposed above my jeans. I'd try a tall, but the sleeves would be too long

I am a sucker for wardrobe items that I see in the movies. In this case the jacket worn by the main character in the movie "Looper" caught my eye for its simple, yet elegant styling. It didn't take five minutes to determine that it's a Carhartt Detroit jacket in dark brown. The jacket fits well and I just can't say enough good things about it. I work in TV field production, which can be a little like camping and construction from one moment to the next. I am confident that this jacket will be my companion through the cool seasons in Texas. It also feels great to wear while riding my motorcycle.
