What to do? I was killing time in a boutique clothing store while my wife was shopping. They had a tiny men's section. I saw Carhartts on the shelf. I had nothing better to do, so I tried them on. They fit so well, I ignored the high "boutique" price. I found a little piece of heaven when I found the part number here on Amazon. Now with a 1-click finger stroke, I get a fresh pair of pants that are comfortable. A half dozen pairs of usable Levi's will be rotting where they are headed.
Note to Mr/Mrs Carhart: Thank you. I'm not likely to be a steady customer for 5 decades, but you have me for whats left. Please don't change anything.
And Carhartts are available in colors that I like.
One thing, I'm glad I read the reviews because some reviewers have said that Carhartts run a little smaller in the waist. I believe that this is true and I'm glad I ordered a waist size at the larger end of what I normally wear. My waist is 32" and I can wear a 32" in the summer with "T" shirts. I normally add one inch for wear in the winter with heavier shirts (33"), but can wear 34"s as well. So I ordered these Carhartts in 34" and they fit about the same as 33" jeans.
I'm a big guy at 6'5 and 38 waist. I worry about online orders not fitting well but these came in perfectly. Nothing was too tight or uncomfortable. The stiching on the pants seems to be durable and well made. I noticed after a week of wearing these everyday for work that the thigh area kind of relaxed a bit from it's factory tightness, but one wash made the fabric taught again like I wanted. These do not shrink in the wash, they just return to factory settings. I wear mine with work boots and they fit nicely over them and don't snag on any of the lace hooks. They don't look too wide over my boots either since they fit snug over the boots right down to the top of the foot. The pants also look presentable and decent for caual outings.
The celphone pocket is a life changer fittign my Samsung Galaxy S6 with a bulky case nicely. I'm sure you've already read plenty on that pocket. Speaking of pockets, the pocket fabric feels really thick and durable so I doubt my pockets will be falling apart like many Old Navy pockets have. The wallet pockets are equally thick and sort of close off so your wallet won't be falling out on you any time soon.
I wish there were more colors like a lighter tan from the darker tan they currently have. While I'm listing complaints I'll say that I did notice some stiching excess was loose. It clearly doesn't effect the stiching, it just looks sloppy. If these pants do end up falling apart on me in less then a year then I will update but I doubt they will be.
Pros: Extremely durable feeling in every location on the pants, Cellphone pocket, thick pockets, fit very well with work boots, sizing was dead on
Cons: color options appear limited
Unbelievable work pants and casual pants.
I _really_ want to love these pants, the fabric, color, pockets and construction are all great, but the blasted relaxed fit with it's shorter rise and narrower legs completely ruins them. Despite fitting fine at the waist, the crotch is way up in my business and the seat and thighs are like sausage casings. Sitting, crouching or bending are nearly out of the question, with seams digging into places where you really don't want things digging in. I'll be returning these to get something like the B11 or B151 models that actually fits right.
