Cons = Inconsistent sizing, short legs, and wide leg openings.
This are great pants. They are comfortable and I wear them around the house and to work. The legs are a little bit shorter than they should be but not a huge deal. I have ordered several pairs and can tell you that the sizing is inconsistent. Sometimes the waist is perfect and sometimes to big.
But the other pair was clearly mislabeled when it was made. When looking at the 2 pair side by side, one was about 10" smaller in the waist then the other pair, and both pair had the same tag sewn into the pants stating they were the same size I had ordered.
I personally think something must have went wrong at the plant that makes these pants and several likely got shipped with the wrong sizes labeled on them. That would likely explain why sever people have reported size issue and while others said they fit perfectly. I based my rating on the pair that was labeled and fit correctly.
When thinking about the pair that were labeled and fit correctly, only reason I did not give them a 5 star, was they are a bit heavy.
I ordered some other styles along with these and the Carhart B159's seem to be my favorite of the styles I have tried so far, they are lighter weight but very durable. I wish they offered the 159s in Black. I think these will be great for winter, or late fall.
They seem to shrink a fair amount (1" or so) at first and then continue to shrink a tiny bit every time you dry them. I wash my clothes like a normal person ;) warm or cold water and medium tumble dry....
After 2 1/2 years, wearing them 5 or 6 times a month in all kinds of conditions, they are just starting to wear out in the knees and have frayed a bit at the cuffs.
These pants are super comfortable and plenty durable for light duty work. I've worked as a carpenter for over 10 years and I wouldn't wear these if I was doing a ton of work on the ground or in the dirt (get the double fronts for that) but for general purpose, these are awesome. I've been wearing 30x32 in all my pants and jeans for years now and these were just a bit longer than I am used to, but I think that is just the Carhartt style. The waist was perfect really, but I seem to be between waist sizes so they might be a bit tight for others.
