I wear my work pants on a construction site. I need pants that can handle that, and I have never been satisfied with women's pants.
That said, these have changed my opinion. They fit me so much better than men's pants. It's mostly in the crotch. (I know, not something you generally want to read about, but bear with me.) Men's pants sit a bit higher, and the legs start a bit lower than most women's pants, so if you're wearing men's workpants and your thighs touch, you're going to have skin rubbing. These fit much, much better.
The waist/hip ratio is... off. The hips/thighs are bigger than are necessary, but then, I don't want tight pants while working, so it balances out to generally be comfortable.
I'd suggest these to women looking for women's work pants.
As a fan of Carpenter Jeans (Dickies brand with multiple pockets that are roomy and deep!) I found these Carhartt jeans offered the same rugged features and quality denim but the fit was just too baggy. It's not a 'sizing' issue as the waist and inseam were perfectly sized. For now, I'll stick with Dickies :-)

5'4". 122 lbs. muscular. 25" waist, 35" hips, 30" inseam. These are huge. Wish they had a 2, I would replace them instead of returning.Published 24 months ago by MHFDWife
The fabric is much lighter weight than men's Carhartts. The cut is extremely wide through the hips and thighs. Not flattering at all.Published on April 24, 2014 by Lisa

There is no denying that these jeans are the comfiest I've had in a long time. They fit more like men's jeans, so they aren't the most attractive, but they feel great. Read morePublished on February 25, 2013 by Lauretta W
