When I'm reading the book I thought to my self, this fling was moving so fast. It jumped from a 1 to a 10 within minutes, it felt like they knew each other their whole lifes. By the second day they are calling each other sweetheart and babe and became really close. As much as i was enjoying the read i said who cares the book was exciting and reading about them were hot. The sex between these two are steaming as well there are explicit language and acts in the book so be warn if that's not your thing. Even though it's a short novella, you sense both growing feelings for Linden and Shay so you get what you get within the short time of the book with the development of their feelings.
After the fling, it got really interesting, when both Linden and Shay returned to their lives. An accident has struck one of the characters and the other goes to that person trying to fight for them. Really love the ending and I loveeeeeeeeeeeed the scene When Linden and Shay were in the club the second time. You will know what I'm talking about when you read the book. That was a nice turn on. Love IR books and can't wait for the follow up books.
After Volume 1 I think I'll leave Volume 2 alone.
I thought the story was good, but because it is short it really flies by. Shay's bf cheated on her while on vacation, and her knee jerk reaction was to go to a club, and hook up with the first hot guy she could find which was Linden with his violet eyes. This book is in the erotica category, but I didn't think the sex scenes were all that steamy, and Shay & linden had a lot of sex during their week together. When I think of erotica I want to be squirming in my seat and this book just didn't do that for me.
I did like the other parts of the story; when they were shopping in the market in St. Lucia, and their hike up the Petit Piton Mountains. These aspects really gave some insight into the St. Lucian culture, and gave some back bone to this story. Shay was black, and Linden was presented as white, but the shocker was Linden's mother was actually black as well, and his father was white. If I could picture the reaction on Shay's face when she realized this it was probably priceless.
This was my first book by this author so I will definitely give her another chance to see what else she has to offer.
Ms. Winters' Caribbean Heat starts off with a bang. "So hold on tight it's going to be a bumpy ride," like the late Actress Betty Davis would say. You know the drama is coming like a runaway train. Using Ms. Winters' own words; Caribbean Heat is Hot! Wet! And Pulsating! There was some turn of events that had me holding my breath, leading me to the satisfied ending. Well done!!
