I went from blogging to creating books about my paper crafting passion, and then stuck my toe in the water of children's book writing in 2013 with the release of "Up, Up and Away." It was supposed to be a series, but life took me in other directions.
In 2016 I reconnected with an old friend, not realizing that would return me to the world of children's books. I'm delighted to have joined forces with Terry Wilson to create the Lucky the Talking Bird series. By incorporating images of Lucky the parrot with Terry's photos from decades of world travel and photographing animals for pet magazines, we've created a series for children that is designed to both entertain and teach.
Lucky is a real bird, a red-crowned Amazon parrot that just happens to be on the endangered species list. He lives with Terry, who can vouch for the fact that he's quite a scamp. It doesn't take much to infuse Lucky with character in our books--it's already there.
