Compared to poly-vi-sol or tri-vi-sol, D drops are much, much easier to administer. A single drop on the nipple or pacifier is the daily dose, plus the drops don't taste gross so you don't have to watch your baby tongue-thrust down the gross, thick poly-vi-sol. There's no risk of staining baby's clothing either, as the D drops are clear. Though the price seems higher than poly/tri-vi-sol, the entire Carlson's bottle lasts one year, so it ends up being a bargain. I would definitely recommend this product to breastfeeding mothers.

This product is sooooo much easier and better than giving an infant those nasty tasting tri-visol vitamin drops by Enfamil. Although this product only provides vitamin D, thats all a breastfed infant needs as far as a supplement. No taste, no mess, great product.

I have tried another brand of Vitamin D supplements for my baby and it made her extremely fussy and gassy. This brand is very easy to administer to my baby, only one drop! And no fussiness or awful taste (i taste tested it :)). The only con is that I wish you could squeeze the drop out instead of just holding the bottle upside down and wait for gravity to force the drop out. But it's no big deal - I just hold it upside down and shake it, and when the drop is just about ready I hold it over baby's mouth and it drops right in!

I was happy to hear about these drops. They last for a year because you only need one drop a day, and that is very inexpensive. I also like the fact that there are only two ingredients, and one of them isn't caramel color.

I'm disappointed that I wasted my efforts and money on the drops that require 1mL/day. They're an awful cherry flavor and a sticky mess that my baby refused to swallow. I initially went with them because it's what my daughter's pediatrician recommended. I fought with her constantly while she spit it out every time. Once I figured out that I could get away with mixing it with some breastmilk and bottlefeeding it to her, she refused the bottle soon after.

I heard about Carlson Labs drops after complaining about the other alternative and admitting I had given up on forcing my baby to swallow it. I initially thought, "Oh, those are pretty expensive", but when you do a price comparison and consider the number of doses per bottle, you are saving a LOT of money by getting the Carlson Labs drops. This bottle is supposed to last a year, vs. the other Vitamin D drops which last just over two months per bottle.

These are especially easy to use once your baby is eating solids. One drop on the spoon and you're done. I know I've read a few complaints about when the baby is being exclusively breastfed, and the trouble with making sure baby is getting her one drop, but I imagine it wouldn't be too difficult to manage with one drop of something that seems to have very little taste vs. an entire dropper of something that tastes awful. My baby has never had any objections to the taste of these drops.

My only regret is not buying these drops sooner. Now I've got a half-full bottle of the "other stuff" that I paid for and is going to waste.

My daughter's pediatricia recommended this product. It's compact and easy to use! My little one is a little under 2 months old and has been taking it each day since she was about 2 weeks old with no problem.

We use these with our 4 week old daughter. Shake it a bit, apply one drop to the nipple before breastfeeding, and that's it. Yes, they're more expensive to buy up front, but this little bottle will last a year, compared to the somewhat cheaper Poly-Vi-Tol drops that take a lot more product. Added bonus, there's nothing to spit up.

The only negative - I'd prefer if this had a dropper tip instead of the somewhat odd tip it comes with. Sometimes it's hard to tell if we are going to get one drop or more.

I love the fact that you only need to use one drop, which you can also apply onto your nipple when nursing. We had tried multivitamin drops before, which tasted gross, and my baby wouldn't take them. Now there are no problems to get him to take his vitamin D. Good price-performance ratio, too, since a bottle will last for a long time.
