This book is the best book on the market for the Carnivore diet. Shawn did a great job addressing all the major concerns regarding an all meat Carnivore Diet. He includes the science, nutrition, myths as well as social aspects, eating out, testimonials and references. Lots of valuable information all in one book. On top of all that, it is a light hearted, easy to read book that anybody can enjoy.
If you or loved ones are sick you are probably eating the wrong foods (too many carbohydrates). This is the perfect book that may just open your eyes to the possibility that changing your diet to include more meat will make you healthier and possibly save you money by no longer needing to be on expensive medications.
UPDATE: Having read the first few pages, it's definitely written in Dr. Baker's inimitable style and author's voice. No ghost-written claptrap here! It's straight from the apex-predator primate's mouth.
I'm going to eat a couple beef patties and continue reading the Kindle version on my computer.

I found the most powerful section to be the one with testimonials and case studies. Real people who had completely changed their health and lives after dropping all plant foods. I started a carnivore diet in June 2018 after decades of ill health, including IBS, SIBO, Hashimotos Thyroiditis (auto-immune thyroid disease), chronic fatigue, raynaud's, interstitial cystitis, migraines and more. I had been vegetarian for years and eaten an extremely 'clean' plant based diet, chomping down on supposed 'super foods' and supplements. I even taught plant based cookery courses...
Changing to a carnivore diet was the mentally challenging thing I have done but the most transformative. My gut issues have gone away after more than 30 years, I am off thyroid meds and I have never felt better.
I would encourage anyone to at least read this book and remain open minded to the power and potential of this diet!
I enjoyed the carnivore vs vegan/agriculture/gas production part the most. It includes many charts and statistical information on meat consumption, it’s environmental impact compared to plant based diet. It also contains lists of other possible resources to read, carnivore fb groups to join, lists of nutritional values of various animals, their organs, short list of how and where to shop for meat, how to prepare it.
It’s an easy read, obviously pro-carnivore but not in a militant way. The author is aware that eating whatever we want is our choice and it’s up to us. He’s trying to lead the reader to think more about his/her food choices and to see that it affects our health more than people think/are being told. He offers the carnivore diet as a way to health, as an option to treat autoimmune diseases, various chronic diseases, disrupted mental health. He’s been fully carnivore himself for the past few years and he’s been in touch with thousands of (very) ill people (ex vegans included) who’s health has massively improved after adapting the carnivore diet.
Personally I appreciate he put time into researching the vegan propaganda arguments and he offers “counters” to them. It feels like there’s this narrative in society nowadays that by choosing to eat meat you’re essentially a bad person, unethical stone cold selfish killer. It’s refreshing to see someone applying a common sense to eating meat. Dr. Baker did a good job of writing a piece available to people without a medical/nutritional/environmental education that zooms in on the processes of how meat (and plants) influence our bodies and then he gradually zooms out on how meat (and plants) influence our planet. Even if you don’t do the diet, you’re still gonna get a plenty of food for your thoughts🙂
When humans and pre-humans were evolving, they all ate some or lots of meat. (Our "cousins" who didn't eat meat either died out or are still in trees eating for hours every day).
Meat (in a broad sense) is therefore "species appropriate" for humans, and it is the healthiest and most natural source of nutrients.
This book puts meat into this historical, and a future, context. It identifies why veganism is a false direction.
It encourages readers to eat mostly or entirely meat, and provides a lot of nutritional information about it. The book includes birds and fish as well as mammals.
There are many people who have been eating to a "totally meat" food-style for a long time. Some case studies of their health-benefits are provided, but there are vastly more case studies on the web and in social media.
The author's style is readable and humorous. The book is laid out in an attractive format.

A carnivore diet is by far better for humans, animals and the environment than I ever thought possible. Forget any vegan propaganda or ideas that even vegetarianism will be good for you, Dr Baker outlines exactly why that won't be the case.
I've only been upping my animal product intake for 5 days, I've cut out most fruit, veg, vegetable oil, sugar and grain and already I feel improvements. Tea is next! I never paid enough attention to my body to notice that even a cup of tea can make me feel sluggish. Eating only meat, butter and eggs makes me feel amazing. Pooing is no longer a problem, I feel happier and more optimistic, I feel less bloated, I've only needed to eat once today...it's crazy! Dr Shawn Baker has honestly changed my life, thank you!
I bet I'll lose weight in no time at all after trying nearly my whole life. No more counting calories! Sticking to 1300 calories a day and going without food when I was really hungry was utter misery and I hated it. Now I can stuff my face with real fat and protein once a day, shit like a champ and not be hungry. I reckon I ate under 1000 calories today but so what, every calorie counted. Calories from empty grains mean nothing to my body. This way of thinking is truly the way forward even though it's how humans lived for millions of years already.
Where's the diet? I was expecting some sort of daily meal plan not 1/3 of a page with a paltry effort to write a weekly intake of meat. This book is also aimed at the US market and not the UK.

The information Dr. Baker has compiled is very compelling and flies in the face of what has wrongly become standard nutritional advice. Looking at it from my new perspective it all just makes so much sense and it now irks me to watch the advice dished out on TV on a daily basis. This has permanently changed my life for the better and I hope others can benefit to the same degree I already have.

Und immer dann, wenn es um Ernährung geht, sollten wir nicht vergessen, dass unsere persönliche Entscheidung letztlich auch eine politische ist. Wie Baker an einigen Stellen betont und sehr deutlich vor Augen führt, ist aktuell ein Kampf entbrannt, der mit allen möglichen, vor allem auch durch Politik, Großkonzerne und Lobbyisten gesteuerte Maßnahmen versucht, unsere ganz individuellen und persönlichen Entscheidungen in Bezug auf eine reflektierte und selbstverantwortliche Ernährung zu beeinflussen.
Dem sollten wir - ganz gleich welchen Ernährungsstil wir persönlich favorisieren - nicht tatenlos zuschauen, sondern auch in diesem Kontext uns positionieren und Stellung beziehen.
So gesehen, leistet das Buch auch in einem weiteren Rahmen einen wertvollen Diskussionsbeitrag. Sehr empfehlenswert!
