About Carole West
Carole West enjoys the simple life in East Texas, with her husband Robert. Writing has always been a passion since childhood and for many years life was busy raising a family and homeschooling her children. When the nest almost emptied, she chose to pursue a writing career.
This journey began in 2014 with a blog, Garden Up Green. From there she published books and dove into freelance writing for several national magazines. Some of which include Grit, Countryside, Capper’s Farmer and Hobby Farms.
She was also a spokesperson for Texas Home and Garden. During that period, she taught DIY projects, gardening and how to raise quail in workshops. It was a great experience.
Carole has been gardening for 40 plus years a journey that began in her grandmother’s garden from a young age. It wasn’t until she and her husband moved their family onto a small farm that she rediscovered her love for growing and later raising quail. She combined a cultivated skill with a new one and it just worked for quite some time.
In 2020, life shifted, and a big decision was made to close down that blog. With all that content and readers emailing asking for more another decision was made to put those writings into books. This shift came about with many interruptions, a move and continued growth along the way.
The writing journey is far from over. Carole recently published a new blog in her name, a place focused on "seeing the good" in five neat categories.
