Other reviews here are from car restorers, enthusiasts, and those who might spend 2-3 hours detailing one of their cars over an afternoon. I am not that guy. As a doctor and a dad, time is at a premium, but I do like to do this myself rather than paying $25 for each vehicle at a car wash.

That being said, this unit is a MAJOR time & money saver.

Bought this and the Pilot Automotive CC-2010 11" Soft and Dry Water Blade to wash our 5 series BMW, Volvo S80, and a Honda Civic in a single 1.5 hour period.

I DO NOT hook up the hose to the unit, I find this unnecessary, so I can't speak intelligently on whether this feature works. I fill my pail with car wash soap and VERY hot water, dip the brush in the bucket and then onto the car as usual. Soap seems to stay on the bristles quite a time - for all my cars I'm 'refilling the brush' with hot water & soap only 4-5 times.

The drying blade is a fabulous complement to the brush. It turns a 6 towel drying job into 1 towel for ALL 3 CARS and cuts the time by at least 75%..

Quick tip - I spray large amounts of Simple Green on my tires & rims FULL STRENGTH before I even start this process - it cuts through just about anything, and 80% of the brake dust and road dirt just hoses off. The rest I leave for the brush at the END of the car wash cycle.

I've only used the brush standalone, and haven't hooked it up to a hose. I got it to clean the vinyl siding on my house and it works very well. When using the brush with telescoping handle, you do really have to tighten it to keep it from working its way loose. It seems to be very durable so far. I took it to a work day last weekend and some of the teenagers helping out thought it was a push broom, so it spent the day sweeping up dirt and leaves. With a quick rinse, it looked good as new. I was impressed. It's a great buy in my opinion. I give it 4 stars because the rings that clamp the handle in telescoping mode are plastic, not metal.

My first use of the brush was to wash the minivan. Quite a few blue bristles came out of the brush. When I used the brush to wash the side of the garage still more bristle fell out. I am concerned just how long this brush will last. It is off to a poor start.

The angle of the brush is not well designed. For those times you want to reach with the brush and the extension is fully out only the last row of bristles rub the surface. You can stand back from the surface you are trying to wash about 4 feet so the angle is better, but then you aren't able to reach very far with the brush. It would be much better to have the brush set at a 25 degree angle rather than the 45 degree angle as designed and produced.

I got this for my husband for Christmas (we are into highly romantic gift giving) and he was sort of excited in a "oh, now I have to go wash the motor home" sort of way. It worked great for scrubbing the high up places and the windshield. He didn't think the water hose attachment was very impressive (it made the brush awkward to handle), so he just used a soap filled bucket and dipped the brush into that. I'm glad we have it, he's scrubbed quite a few vehicles with it since Christmas. I wonder if he would get as much use from a floor mop? That's his surprise for next Christmas.

the wand did ok until you tried to hook up the hose plastic grommit was very cheap and leaked all down your arm and shirt. i even used some channel locks to to further tighten still same results. they should have put a brass or metal end for hose hook up would have made a big difference. i figured for $25 would have got something better built oh well.

This is a great brush for washing my car, especially my minivan's roof. I wish there was a way to have it dispense soapy goodness, because then it'd be perfect. I mostly use this just for the final rinse/scrub on my car after I've already soaped it down. When I'm first washing my car, instead I just use my power hose because this brush's hose is not that strong. It shoots a wide spray instead of a stream.

My major complaint about this is that the O-ring that comes with the brush was horrible. The O-ring is the piece of Rubber shaped like an 'O' that goes on the inside tube of the brush that connects to the hose. A bad O-ring causes water to leak and spray around the handle because the connection is poor. I had to cannibalize an old hose to get a good O-ring out of it for this brush. It's a small complaint, but come on, why wouldn't they spend the extra 30 cents to give us a good O-ring?

I have used this thing about 3 or 4 times in the past 6 months. Not including alloy wheels, washing the car is 20 - 25 minute process, does not scratch the new paint, and gets the salt and grime off, including nooks and crannies. It takes a couple of times to get acquainted with the device and a process for maximum efficiency.

I found the brush itself is great - it is soft, not too firm. I used it to clean mold off of vinyl siding and it was almost too soft for that. However, is perfect for car washes.

The pole is a little disappointing - it isn't very long when extended and when it is extended, the extended part is pretty flimsy. Apply too much pressure and it bends the metal a little.

I recommend buying a Mr. Long Arm Brush (just the brush) and attaching it to a sturdy pole (I used a wooden pole that I use when painting ceilings). I used that along side of this and found the wooden pole is a much better way to go (and its only a few inches shorter than this brush when it is fully extended).
