Another case of Amazon “too good to be true”. This is made in INDIA!!! But says that nowhere in the description. The advertising is extraordinarily misleading. “Carrington Farms”?? And pictures of happy cows in green pastures? How exactly do they certify these cows are grass fed and organically at that? Obviously some conglomerate bought a bunch of ghee from India and labeled it misleadingly to sell to trusting Americans. The ghee is also very pale yellow, a sign of adulteration and a definite sign the cows were not “grass fed”.

I was hesitant to buy this through Amazon as it was not the brand I usually use and this type of thing I usually by at the store. When I opened it the texture was off than anything I have ever used. It was granular looking and had an odd smell. I looked at the expiration date and it was still within in that time frame. Ghee doesn't need to be refrigerated but this just looked off and when I tasted it the taste was nothing like it should have been. I immediately threw it away and went to the store to buy my usual brand.
Don't waste your money on this brand and if you have never bought Ghee before don't base your judgement of ghee on this brand either.

Ghee is similar to clarified butter, which is produced by heating butter to remove the milk solids and water. However, in comparing ghee vs. clarified butter, ghee is simmered longer to bring out the butter’s inherent nutty flavor and is left with a higher smoke point than butter, meaning that it can be heated to a higher temperature before it starts to smoke.
Ghee is rich in beneficial nutrients and contains several fatty acids that are important to health. Plus, there are numerous benefits of ghee, and some of its components have been shown to do everything from boost weight loss to improve digestion and relieve inflammation.
Truly the best ghee ever. The minute you open the jar, it smells heavenly very buttery like grass-fed butter should smell. I keep it in refrigerator so it doesn't melt. I'm using it for cooking, baking, or just add to some dish ;) Yammy !

Unfortunately I wasn't able to taste the ghee. The container was not sealed & the ghee melted all over the box & everything in it. What a mess! Make sure you order some ghee in a jar that seals tightly. I did run my finger around the empty container & it tasted good. Very disappointed that they would ship something like this with no seal.

Have purchased at a store before, it stayed solid at room temp, no issues. This came to me liquified and will only stay solid in the fridge. Scared to use it. Have tried to keep it next to a new one in my cabinet that remains solid at room temp.... this one still liquifies.

I have been buying ghee for sometime now and I have made ghee before that. This was my first time trying this brand and something is terribly wrong with this product. It does not taste like organic clarified butter. There is a distinct plastic taste.
It is awful. I will not use it or buy it ever again.

Really but another brand even if it is more expensive. I am convinced that it is not what the label says it is...

What I have learned about Ghee...It an amazing fat, right up there now with olive and coconut oil. Grass fed, even better as it boosts its natural nutrient profile and flavor. Ghee is full of fat-soluble vitamins A, E & K and healthy fatty acids. Additional benefits which have been reported are that it builds stronger bones, enhances weight loss, improves digestion, and relieves inflammation. Please research this on your own. It has been used for thousands of years and a healing food in Ayurvedic healing practices.
