As far as the "Cars 2 " game goes I highly recommend that if your child is young like my grandson, that an adult spend some time with the game set up first. I spent about thirty minutes with the game before I latter gave it to my grandson. You will be asked to perform some easy manuvers at the C.H.R.O.M.E. Spy Acadamy which I did for him untill I reached the first two levels. Then I entered the "cheat codes" from the "Options" selection on the main menu. Just go to the web site I mentioned earlier and print them out so you have them handy. "Cheat codes" are not automatically saved into the game memory and you have to re-enter them each time after you have shut down the Wii system . That's no big problem because it only taks less than a minute to enter them. Also, play this game with the Wii remote only, no Num-chuck required. Now, as far as the game play goes, I can't put into words how excited my grandson is each and every time he now gets to race with his favorite racers from the "Cars 2 " movie, which he also owns a watches repeatedly. He has done so well in the races he has played already that he has advanced to the next Spy level and continues to open up more and more racers to use. What impressed me about the grafics, the backround scenery and the special effects is how close to the actual movie this game is presented. And as far as variety there is several modes of play for single player or multi-player. A child can choose to ride around and hunt for the bad guys and blow them up with rockets, missles or machine guns but non of the charactewrs really dies or gets hurt while doing this, plus they are shooting back at his character too, so I explain to him that it is really just for fun and he seems to get the fact that it is just a game. Also he can choose to just race on a particular track or race with weapons that he can choose, these are called "Battle Races". There are "Attack" modes and "Survival" modes which have several varieties each. I can just go on and on about how much fun and mild violence entertainment this game is so I'll just conclude with that I highly recommend this game for any child who is a "Cars" fan.
They both gave it a 5 star rating. Actually, my youngest said he gave it 100 stars! They've spent hours playing this game, and they love earning new cars. (Tomber is a particular favorite and they were both so excited when they earned that car. My 6 year old insisted I put that in the review. :)
It's a good game for either one or two players, and it's been just challenging enough to be enjoyable without being too difficult for them. Of all the Wii games we've purchased, this one if the only one both my kids have liked equally. The youngest loves it and the oldest doesn't think it's too young for him. We've had it for several weeks and they aren't tired of it yet. It was a great purchase.
