Waste of money. The viewer is tiny and it is hard to get the object in view, and then to get them in focus is a real pain in the butt. I thought this would be handy for quick identifying in the field. It isn't quick and it isn't helpful. (Was using it for insect identification)

This is EXACTLY what I needed when I went looking for a pocket microscope.
The light is powerful enough that I don't have to worry about my positioning to get a good look. Adjusting the focus and zoom is simple.
Compared to the Carson 200-mm MicroMax and branded versions like the '420 scope', this one uses a AA battery instead of button cells and zooms 60-120x instead of 60-100x. I'm happier with how the bottom is closed off and the larger body of the scope makes it easier to hold steady while adjusting.

My kids love this thing!! Every now and then you find something that gives you a moment's peace in your life! I have 2 daughters ages 9 and 8, they fight like cats and dogs. I' nothing but a referee these days but thanks to this little scope my minions are too busy looking at things to fight. I found something that can keep their big mouths shut for hours!!

I actually enjoy it too, I looked at so many things around the house and I was amazed what they really looked like up close. Things are NOT eve close to what they appear to be. They viewing window is adequate and the zoom/focus is perfect. The built in light us a great bonus, this it NOT a toy, this really works! Don;t be fooled by the price this is a great piece of equipment.

Useless to me. I couldn't get it to focus on any of the stones I tried to view. Looking for jewelry markings is a no go with this thing. I ended up purchasing the ARTBRIGHT LED Lighted Slide out Pocket Magnifying Glass - 30X 60X and 90X Multi-Power Small Portable Loupe Magnifier with UV Black Light Best for Jewelry, Diamonds, Gems, Coins, Stamps, Rocks (Black) which works great for viewing markings.
This may be a good lens for coins, but I do not recommend it for gems or jewelry. I even gave it to my grandkids to look at insects, and they couldn't see anything. The slide didn't seem to make sense either. Not for me.

Made well
I like this Scope and recommend it as a great HORTICULTURE SCOPE
This scope is hard to get use to for some one that has not looked through many micro scopes like this .
The wider form factor over the Carson mm 200 is much easier to hold and focus and zoom using one hand !
It just fits good in one hand leaving the other hand to move the specimens closer or father away , making the fine focus not needed as much
also the eye piece is larger and much easier to see through than the mm 200 which is TINY and very hard to see through.
The image is crisp and clear from 60x all the way through and in between to 120x which is surprising ,usually this is not the case !
,KEEP IN MIND every thing will appear in REVERSE !!
The L E D is bright and it uses AA batteries, better to me than the little batteries most of these scopes use
more L E D s would be better !
It looks nice, sits on the table and doesn't fall over ,its a good size so its easy to spot when needed , most scopes are so hard to find

Bought this to inspect the edge of my straight razors, however the plastic transparent base does not allow the lens to get close enough to get a good focus. To be able to use it, I filed the plastic base on both corners (basically removed 1/3'' of material from both sides), to allow the blade to be just under the lens. Once I did that (5 minutes), it worked great.

This is a very nice little microscope for the price. The image is very clear and the light is stronger than I expected. I really like its portability and that one does not need slides to observe subjects. I bought it to identify a very small insect in my house and once I got a specimen (that took a while) I was able to observe lots of details, even the hairs on its legs, which surprised me. The reason I gave it 4 stars is because it can be a little hard to locate very small objects under it, and it loses the focus when you move it, but for the price and my purpose works just fine,

This is a great little instrument! I've seen scopes at 10X the price with far less quality.
Sturdy construction, well engineered, quality materials and workmanship.
Good optics. Well designed illumination.
Zoom and focus are both smooth and tight: no discernable slop*, no burrs or rough spots.
(* "Slop" is that gap between when you turn the control and when it actually engages.)
Viewing off axis, there's just a bit of chromatic aberration, but over all, the image is clear
and sharp—all across the viewing field.
It's an asset to any workbench, desk, or table near anyone who's interested or just curious
about details of the world around them. I highly recommend it!

Certain products are so cheap they should not be made, this is one of them. Ridiculously hard to operate to any level of detail inspection. Operates like a cheap child's toy.

This thing is actually quite amazing. It took me about 10 minutes to figure out the focus (*** the trick is to make sure it is on a flat surface*** I used the slider piece on the slide about in the middle then used the twisting part to bring it from blurry into a clear image), mainly because it is sensitive and has to be at just the right level in order to get a crisp image. But wow, I am truly happy with this - for $10 you can see insanely close up detail that was so much more than I thought it was going to be. TOTALLY worth it.
