Editorial Reviews

Review

“…[T]his is a work of supreme mystical genius. I put it on the level of Be Here Now. … I cannot emphasize enough just how incredible this text is. … It's articulated in a form that is graceful and psychedelic and fun to read.” (Duncan Trussell - The Duncan Trussell Family Hour)

I first heard about Cartoon Utopia while listening to an episode of The Duncan Trussell Family Hour podcast, in which comedian, Duncan Trussell, interviews Ron Regé: [...]. Regé's perspective was so engaging that I immediately took Trussell's advice and bought the book here on Amazon. Two days later, with book in hand, I am beyond pleased with my purchase. I recommend listening to the interview before purchasing for a point of entry or as a companion to this book for context. The cartoon style belies the profound nature of this book's contents. Although the work is densely packed, it reflects extensive research on the part of Regé: a true labor of love.

Just looking through the table of contents and I get excited when I see all the different topics these cartoons covered. Bought after listening to Duncan Trussell's podcast along with Be Here Now. They are complementary pieces that are good to have in your library or coffee table, so you know which of your guests are really cool.

Amazing and unlikely comic. This book covers some bigger themes, following a character on a spiritual journey to save the world. Not your typical plot line. Also, the artwork is phenomenal. Lettering explodes from and through the pages, sometimes interwoven with the imagery. I found it a delightful read.

"the Be Here Now of western mysticism" I've heard it called. It's such a lovely and amazing book. It takes a minute or two to get your eyes trained to see all the details, but it's worth it.

one of my favorite books in my collection.

Was pretty interesting the whole way through. I especially enjoyed the story about Lillith and her children, I'd never heard it before. The art was stylish and cute, however I often found the drawings to sometimes resembled an undecipherable mass of content, and often the words were hard to follow or read. Beyond that, the stories and the ideas were fun and interesting, especially if you're into ontological, metaphysical, and esoteric matters.
