Pressing the syringe down can be difficult for younger kids, it does take a bit of a stronger press than one would expect.
This is still a must have for any kid that loves playdough, do be careful however because the syringe tube may crack if misused.
If these were made by playdough you could expect a bit more durability.
Well I was wrong. It requires an adult power in order to squeeze the Dough out. He tried several times and got frustrated. He doesn't even want them anymore.
It was great fun for him and a good distraction from his rambunctious self. (He has to take it easy for the next week...we can barely get him to sit still!) He played with these for hours, creating imaginary foods and crazy critters. Leaves kids with lots of options to use their creative skills.
For young ones too small to work the extruder, we pull out the plunger and use the shape side as a stamp.
The little kids, 3 and under, it is very hard for them to push the play dough out, their hands are not that strong yet... I work with 3 and under most of the time, so that's why not 5 stars.
He made all sorts of things. He made hearts for his mommy and myself. He played for hours with this set alone. It came with a cute little yellow keychain too.
However, it was a bit tough for him to push the clay out of the syringe. I had to stop and help him a few times.
