It’s ridiculous how a simple thing like a dustpan and brush can completely aggravate you. Tired of dealing with a warped dustpan that all the dirt went underneath when sweeping up, I searched and searched and spent a ridiculous amount of time reading reviews for dustpan/brush combos! I mean, a RIDICULOUS amount of time. Settled on this one after reading MANY glowing reviews - including one that said “this changed my life!” Obviously, that should have been a clue. See the photo. The awesome rubber lip that I thought would be the answer to my dustpan/brush woes....immediately started ripping off. See the scotch tape mending. It’s not working. So now I am the proud owner of yet another useless dustpan and brush. Don’t waste your money!

I know you're sitting there, looking at dustpans and trying to decide which one to spend your hard earned money on. Should I get a basic white plastic one? Maybe splurge a little and get one with a rubber edge so it doesn't slide on the floor? I really don't want to spend too much money on one though!

Well let me help you out - just buy this one. Seriously - you're debating the benefits of a dustpan. Stop it. Buy this one. I did on a whim and it was a good choice. I needed a dustpan for my kitchen and logged on to Amazon and bought one. Call me a rebel but I did it and I own it.

This dustpan is pretty legit, though. Rubberized handles, snug fit for the brush in the pan, and a rubber lip on the dustpan. Plus it looks like it can hold 2-3 cups of waste material. "Two to three cups? That's it?" you might say. If you have more than 2-3 cups of waste on your floor I strongly urge you to buy a vacuum and determine the source of your excessive debris problem.

In short, it's a dustpan and brush and it works. Buy it and revel quietly in your dustpan superiority.

Fatal Flaw - Failed After Only 3 Uses

This would be perfect if not for a fatal design flaw. The black rubber lip has split after only 3 normal uses, which is unacceptable. The rubber where the lip meets the dust pan is too thin. Apparently it only takes a very minimal amount of force applied a couple of times for it to crack at the seam. The unit still works, but I can only sweep into the good side of the pan since dust slides right under the damaged side when sweeping.

Aside from the durability of the lip, everything else is perfect. The brush is a good size with a nice grip and the triangular shape allows it to fit into corners. The bristles are fine enough to sweep up small dust particles. The jagged teeth on the pan allow you to deep clean the brush by wiping the brush through the teeth, removing hair, string, and other pesky things that get stuck in between the bristles. The lip provides a great seal against a flat floor surface and doesn't allow dust to slide underneath of it (at least until the lip fails). Until the manufacturer addresses the lip splitting issue by thickening the rubber or modifying the rubber compound, I would suggest purchasing something else.

Seriously, I should've read the reviews! If you're a lefty, you won't like it. It feels weird in my left hand, which is my favorite hand! Boo! South paws, UNITE!!
Otherwise, its awesome. Thick rubber lip, narrow bin for easy trash dumping, soft-ish bristles (not too soft, juuust right), handy hangy hole. Wish it had more bristles, like more dense britslte distribution, know what I mean? But I suppose its sufficient for dust. I was very upset to go to purchase a Rubbermaid dustpan, only to find out that there is NO rubber in them anymore. I refused to buy their expensive plastic version so looked further and found this one. I have to say, I had my doubts. That is why I have always stuck with Rubbermaid.
I took a chance and bought this one. Was I ever surprised at the well built quality of this Casabella dustpan. You all know how long plastic ones last. They don't. But this one is different in how they made it and its materials. It is strong and durable and the lip is very fine. So fine that I can pick up all the dust from drilling a anchor hole in my wall. I didn't even want the brush when I went to buy it, only a good dustpan that would last. But the brush is decent also and I have found myself reaching for it and it works very well for fine stuff also.
Bottom line? From this "only Rubbermaid will do" kind of woman, I love this new dustpan and brush.

Love for a dustpan? It's possible. The tray has a terrific angled edge made out of a more grippy, flexible material than the plastic bin. Makes for the highest % of dust swept into the pan of any I've had. No chasing around a line of dust that just won't go in. The pan itself is deep with high sides. Prevents spills on the way to the trash and keeps dust from going over the sides once you tip it. And that brush! Wow. When you're done with the Swiffer or broom or whatever, do yourself a favor and use this angled brush around table and couch legs and see what else it'll get for you. Great for reaching under cabinets to baseboards. Can there be six stars? And for something so simple...

This is by far the best dustpan & brush I've ever used. The brush is angled in such a way as to be able to dig into areas. One place it did well was the grating on the bottom of the fridge - the brush could dig in & gather up dust I had no idea was there. It also is narrow enough on one end to slip into smaller spaces. I've been able to use it in tight corners as well as under things. It also sweeps up dust/dirt without scattering it like some brushes do. It fits easily & perfectly in the handle/slot, the pan is deep enough to hold a lot easily. I love this & am so glad I bought it. I doubt there is anything better.

Okay, so why do you need a review of a dustpan and brush? Well, you'd be surprised. I've bought a few in the past couple of years, and all ended up in the plastic recycling bin - the common flaw being that the plastic lip did not make good contact with the floor, so a lot of what you sweep ends up underneath the dustpan.

This Casabella dustpan, does what a dustpan should. The rubber lip hugs the floor tightly. It has good ergonomics in the angle of the dustpan, and the brush is solid too. Don't spend a couple bucks at the dollar store for something flimsy that you will throw out. Just get this.

I've gone through many cheap dust pans where the dust would just seep through the bottom and you would have to constantly back up to try to catch it. This was definitely worth the money, since it pretty much catches everything in a few sweeps. The plastic teeth on the dust pan is an added bonus -- makes it easy to remove hair that gets tangled on the brush.

This product is sturdy and material of good quality. I've had it for a few months and the bottom continues to stop dirt from getting underneath. The teeth to clean hair and such from the brush is a handy addition (cause sadly, I shed a lot....... getting older sucks). The teeth do seem to pull the brush bristles apart a bit, so I won't be cleaning the bristles quite so enthusiastically and it should be fine. So far I'm happy with my purchase.

Love the appearance of this set, but after using for only a month, I find that the bristles on the brush are separating already. I'd don't recall if this was suggested for indoor use only. If so, I have been using it about twice a week outdoors so perhaps it's my error.

I really like this. It's a bit bigger than I thought it was going to be. The rubber thing that goes on the floor as you sweep is WONDERFUL. With other dustpans you sweep the dirt on, then some goes under, you pull back the dustpan, sweep again. Repeat and repeat until you get all the dirt up. This dustpan you pretty much only have to sweep once as the rubber strip seems to hug the floor better than other dustpans. Maybe its just because its new and still subtle. Anyway, one month in and I'm still terrfically happy with it.
