It works great for chunky punch bowl ice cubes, and for freezing broth cubes. I had no trouble getting them out after the first batch (they seem to loosen up).
Unfortunately, the 2 oz size is a little too small for a average bar of soap--although they make cute guest soaps.
BUT, the biggest negative for me with this brand--the silicone has a matte finish, so your soaps have a very dull surface. I much prefer the Tovolo trays that have a beautiful glossy finish on the silicone.
We were super-excited about these and liked them for several months. It was so easy to get ice cubes out! Then we started noticing that if we used the ice for water, the water tasted so gross we were embarrassed to serve it to guests. The taste wasn't as bad for alcoholic drinks, but if you drank too slowly and let the ice melt, your last sip would undo all the goodness of the previous ones. The ice trays had the same icky smell when they were empty, even after washing and drying them. We did a lot of research on how to get the smell out of silicone (vinegar, baking soda, etc) but nothing worked. Finally we moved them into our soap-making kit, where I'm still worried they'll scent the soap. There was just no way to continue to use them for ice.

big ice cubes that come out easily. I do wish I could find one that made bigger ice though...Published 5 months ago by Trixie P.
Not impressed for the cost. Our local dollar store has same quality for a buck and these had slight plastic odor. Kept for molds for kids play sandPublished 6 months ago by Midwest Momma
I'd recommend putting this on a tray before filling and use the tray to place it in the freezer.Published 9 months ago by Susan
