About the Author

Lisa Loomis writes because she loves to. Her stories are about the human condition: love, life, and everything in between (including sex, drugs, alcohol, and things just crazy enough to be true). Her stories are not predictable, conventional, or lacking in the messiness of life. She tries to extract the real emotion in any given situation in her characters, with a touch of humor. Lisa Loomis was born in Oakland California and raised in San Jose until she was a sophomore in high school. Her father then took a job in the San Diego area where he moved the family to Escondido, California (or hickville as she called it). She finished high school at San Pasqual High then went to junior college at Palomar JC, ultimately graduating from San Diego State University with a BS in Finance. Finding more BS than Finance with the financial meltdown in 2008 she went back to her passion of writing. Her currently published novels are BOY IN A BAND, CASANOVA COWBOY, and GEM RATS. She now lives and writes in Park City, Utah. Visit her at www.LisaLoomisBooks.com or www.MyForeclosureStory.com

I thought based on the title that this book would at least be good. But when I was about maybe 27% through the book she's still rambling on about how maybe she should stay with her boyfriend or just sleep with this guy or maybe this guy... Or maybe just go have a conversation with her mother? The main character instead of sassy or strong as the synopsis suggests is so whiny! Oh my goodness, when I finished I did not like the character at all. Sex, drugs, drinking, and throwing yourself at various men throughout a short period of your life is not how some people view life (or love for that matter). I've got to say, if you read this book you'll be wasting valuable time when you should have read another book.

I'm not quite sure how to explain my experience with this book....... I will start out by saying that I have absolutely nothing in common with Morgan Mallory. I grew up in a later decade than the book started in. I'm not into drugs or alcohol. I don't think any of that matters though. I may not have first hand experience of the things that Morgan went through but I ALMOST feel like I do. Throughout the book I could feel what Lisa Loomis was trying to express. I felt the same way with Boy in a Band by the same author. I don't know if it is her writing style or what?!?!?! Many times in both books my chest would actually ache and I would tear up because I was FEELING the book. Sometime I would find myself giggling or laughing out loud because of something that I read. I absolutely love books that can make you feel as if you're living it. The emotional rollercoaster of this book had me all over the place and I guess that's why I enjoyed it so much. From the lighthearted moments to the heavy, choke-you-til-you-can't-breathe moments, this book gripped me!
It doesn't matter if you like and/or agree with the things Morgan did, or didn't do. It's a story, and you don't even have to like it (which I did), but the feelings of sympathy, empathy, joy, hatred, sorrow, that I actually felt while reading won me over!!!

Another Amazing story. I didn't know what to expect reading this one.... mostly because I know how book one left us off. I thought, now how can Lisa top that..... Well, you did. Again, grabbing me from the balls right from the start. This one follows Morgans life along the same time frame as the first book "Boy in a band" when she wasn't up Matthews ass. Sorry, but it's true. I completely loved the story line in this one. Loved how she grew as a person and met Ryan - who quickly became her new BFF and replaced Matthew in that category. I understood Morgan more after reading this one. And yes, I did cry more tears...... As much as I loved the first one and loved Matthew, I am glad you didn't go there as much in this one. I enjoyed seeing Morgan's life outside the pull Matthew has on her. You are an amazing author Lisa and I look forward to more from you! Buy this series people! Just grab some tissues ;) 5 + stars! <3

I really enjoyed the Morgan Mallory series. I hope this author does a whole lot more. She gets you in deep right off you feel like your there with all the emotions. Morgans story with Eric and her friends was great and she does do a great job of changing things up compared to other romance books so you don't no what to expect a very nice change. These 2 books are a must read but be ready once you start you will be up late until it's done because you just have to finish them.

I was excited to read this book based on the title and some of the reviews. I was really disappointed! It was a huge mess. The story line was so twisted with too many different things happening, and it was constant back and forth and hard to follow. It also was unrealistic. ( not that romance books are) but this was a little extreme for me. The main characters spent YEARS in the dark about their true feeling for each other. I mean, if shouldn't take you over 5 years to figure it out. I kept waiting for things to get better, but it never happened. I have never not finished a book, but I almost gave up on this one a couple of times. And the whole cowboy thing is really not accurate. The only thing cowboy about the story is that the main character wears cowboy boots. There is no ranch and horse riding or anything else that you would associate with a cowboy.

Don't waste your money.

I recently re-read Boy in a Band. It stuck with me just like it did the first time. The only difference? I read Casanova Cowboy this time. I enjoyed seeing what Morgan was up to after she left San Jose. While she frustrated me at times and Ryan had me shaking my head, I got just as attached to their story as I had with Morgan & Mathew.

This second book was a step down from A boy in a band which is my favorite book hands down. Where's Morgan and Mathew love was so raw and painful her romance with Ryan was more grown-up her lust and passion under control excellent series.

This is my opinion, and only my opinion. I read a lot, I mean A LOT! This was possibly the WORST book I've ever read. It rambled, words were misspelled, worst, words were replaced with words that meant nothing to the sentence (for example, not changed to nob). About 20% in the book, I thought, this has to get better, it has a 5 star rating, well let me tell you, it didn't! Once I start a book, I have to finish it, so I finished this one, however, it's 4 hours I'll never get back. In my opinion, don't waste your time.
