About the Author
The authors are all current members of the San Fernando Valley (SFV) Branch of the California Writers Club (CWC). They come from all walks of life and are of college age to seniors. The CWC was established over 100 years ago in 1909 and has now grown to 22 branches throughout the state. The SFV Branch was established in 1986. Several founders of the SFV Branch are still active members.
The purpose of the club is to encourage, educate, and support others in the rewarding experience of writing. At monthly meetings we present inspiring speakers on various aspects of writing, share some of our works-in-progress, and participate in small critique groups to help each other grow in the finer points of the art of ‘putting pen to paper.’
The editor, Rita Keeley Brown's greatest loves are her family, faith, friends, and writing. She enjoys classical music, sports, and humor. With two books published - Good Luck, Mrs. Brown..., a memoir; A Pawn of Fate, a biography; she contributed to two anthologies - the first published by Rowman & Littlefield: Writing After Retirement: Tips from Successful Writers, “Using Life Experience - Memoir Writing,” and Library Outreach to Writers and Poets: Case Studies of Cooperation - “A Workshop is Learning by Doing” published by McFarland for release in 2017. Rita also gives workshops to encourage others to write their stories.
