Cascade's 'Ecological Wool' is the ideal yarn choice for those of us who appreciate high-quality wool at an affordable price plus are concerned about the environment. Beautifully crafted in Peru of 100 percent undyed Peruvian Highland wool, 'Eco Wool' yarn as it is often called is minimally processed, naturally processed and earth friendly. Wound in generous 250-gram hanks (that's over half a pound of yarn!), 'Eco Wool' is a heavy worsted yarn beauty that gives you 478 yards in every hank. That means fewer tie-ins and less finishing work too for every pullover, hat, scarf, jacket, cardigan, shawl and bag project you knit or crochet in this wonderfully soft yarn. 'Ecological Wool' also felts fabulously and works well in a variety of felting projects.

STRETCHES like the dickens in wash. Advise to wash and stretch you swatch, knit to this size and then wash final garment and block to size.
Reviewer at Knitters review found her swatch retained it's original gauge. This is a minority in my experience. There are many accounts of wonderful, cabled sweaters that took ages to knit becoming over stretched and unwearable after one washing to do be careful.
Advertised as bulky but is more of a chunky. Some feel it is light enough to call Aran but I disagree.
At larger gauges, fabric pills easily which is to be expected with a softer, lightly spun wool. Again, experience is variable on degree of pilling. Perhaps it varies from color to color or dye lot to dye lot.
