I got this for my daughter and she really likes it. Its her preferred camera case now for her little Canon digital camera.

It comes with a piece of black foam in the back that keeps the camera from rattling around too much. Gives it some cushion.

I was curious, so I tested the water resistance. I took out the foam and the camera, and filled the case with newspaper. Newspaper gets dark quickly and obviously when it gets wet. Then I closed it up and submerged the case in about 8 inches of water in a bucket. I put a rock on top because it wanted to float.

Anyway the point is that there were no leaks after 5 minutes submerged.

So, I think the case is very good. Its waterproof and it floats. The only thing that could be better is to replace the foam with a cloth organizer that could hold your lens cleaning cloth and sim card, or whatever.

If your lens lined up correctly, you could set your camera on timer and take a picture underwater. But that might be kind of risky. Just because the case seems waterproof might not be good enough to try that. The fact that the manufacturer says "water resistant" instead of "waterproof to 3 meters" means that they aren't very confident about it either.

Why would you want to have this?
If you are going to be on a boat (like a canoe)
If you like to hike and sometimes it rains
If you are going to be around a pool or swimming

It will protect your camera from moisture well enough.

Having purchased 1 of these on clearance at a B&M store, I used it for about a month and found it so useful and protective of my camera that I searched for another for my husband's camera. The case is strong clear plastic, fits comfortably in the hand, and holds my Canon PowerShot A1300 securely but with enough wiggle room that it is easy to lift the camera out of the case and put it back in. There's room enough on the sides to hold a couple of spare cards in their little plastic cases on one side as well. The snap closures are sturdy, strong and work smoothly. There is a corner tab with a thick carry strap as well. I haven't dropped it in a mud puddle....yet.... so can't say anything about the waterproof feature.

Expensive, but so worth the price. I use these for my yearbook cameras. Stumbled and fell one day after hitting uneven concrete at school, and the three cameras I'd been holding scattered across the concrete. If they hadn't been safely tucked away in these cases, I'd have been replacing three cameras after that fall!

Yes, that's what it is. In fact, I'm thinking of putting my smartphone in it when I hike too. I don't know how many times I have dropped or almost dropped my camera climbing near a waterfall, over a cliff edge, slipping down a slippery or rocky trail. Yes, it looks clunky, that's can't be helped if you want water proof, crush proof. It is what is, protection.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
This camera case is nice in that you can see your camera while it is in the case, but it is somewhat awkward and clumsy to work with when you want to take a picture. My wife says that when the camera is in her bag it's nice to be able to quickly see the camera through the case and identify it in the bag. From there it seems to go south.... when you take the camera out of the case to use it you experience some difficulty in getting the camera out. Then you have the same problem in reverse when you put the camera back into the case. The case is also lacking a place to store extra batteries. We like our soft padded black camera case more and this isn't something I would recommend unless you happen to have a very attractive camera you want to show off even when you aren't using it.
