Product Description

The Case-it D-146 Mighty Zip Tab Zipper Binder is an efficiently-designed 3-ring organizer with a five-color, tabbed expanding file folder. This large-capacity binder also features a gusseted zipper for easy access plus a carry handle and shoulder strap for versatile mobility. The zipper has a unique angled design to make it easier and quicker to zip things up when packed with your important papers and materials. The D-146, like all of Case-it's binders, uses Kraft board instead of PE board to give its binders a firm, stiff shape that won't buckle or warp. The spine is specially designed so that your binder can lay flat when open, making it easier to add or take papers out, and to take notes in. Case-it produces quality binders offering unique organizational tools for school or home use.

I am a university professor, and I love my Case It binders!

I have one for each course I ever develop. The Case It binder, especially this one, allows you to keep lots of documents, CDs/DVDs, memory sticks, even loose papers neatly organized. Although one parent has complained that the expandable file folders are a waste of space, I make great use of them, and I suspect many students could, too. Any hand-out that comes along without holes punched in it has a tidy and secure place to live. And because the whole thing zips up, even loose items (I keep the related textbook for my course tucked inside my Case It) don't fall out. And the shoulder strap keeps my hands free for other things.

It is true that this binder will not fit easily into a standard backpack, so a child who has to carry lots of books, might not want to add this to the pile. But if you're equipped with a locker, or are an adult looking to organize materials for a single project or course, this might be the perfect thing for you. Parents might also consider other Case It models (some available here at Amazon) that offer more pockets, nooks, and crannies, but not the files. As for the shoulder strap, it's not the cushiest, but it certainly makes it easy to be on the go with your work. And quality of materials? Mine all still look like new; they've held up great (but I'm not a middle school boy). :)

I recently upgraded from my 'regular' 2 inch binder to this bad boy-love it! The coupon pages I use easily flip over w/ the large 3 inch binder rings for quick referencing. Zipper pocket holds my pen and coupons I have yet to organize. I didn't think I would use the 5 pocket file included, but it's proven great for holding past receipts and grocery lists for price referencing. And I love how I can zip it up and use the handy carrying handle. Now I can throw the binder over my shoulder and easily hold my reusable bags, and hang my purse over the other shoulder, and it's off to couponing, I go!

I am enrolled in online classes. The textbooks and reading material are online for me to read. I have a heard time with reading on my computer so I print out all my information. This has been a lifesaver! I can print everything out for my online class and still have some extra room. I love the carrying handle and if wanted it comes with a shoulder strap. There is plenty of room to organize a few files and keep pens and pencils handy. I take my notebook with me to work and anywhere there might a chance for me to do some reading. It is easier than carrying my laptop and I don't have to worry about it getting stolen.

My 6th graders used this binder last year and I am purchasing again for 7th grade. Last year's binders lasted 7 months before the rings started to not line up well when closed (leaving enough of a gap to allow papers/plastic dividers to slip out) and the grommets holding the 3-ring strip started to loosen, eventually allowing the metal strip to pull out of the spine. These weaknesses are utterly unavoidable, though - a 3-inch stack of paper is a lot of weight yanking on those rings. No other brand comes close to lasting this long. I didn't have to replace them last year; they limped across the finish line in June working well enough. For this year, I considered the Case-it binder that has two sets of 1.5-inch rings, but that binder doesn't have the pockets and built-in accordion file that this one has, and that feature . The zippers and cover held up perfectly all year; the zippers never stuck or detached, which is pretty impressive given that they were constantly overstuffed with textbooks, library books, notebooks, TI-84s... art supplies... food... batteries... P.E. shirts... pinecones...

My son has had this for a while now, and it's still all in one piece! It's very sturdy, and I like the files built in to it, so you don't need pocket folders in there taking up room. It's more than I wanted to originally spend, but since it's going to last longer, it was definately worth it.

This case-it provides room for everything the middle schooler needs and is very easy to carry. Would purchase two a year just to make sure they have everything they need and to keep it FRESH! LOL

I bought this in order to replace and update my coupon binder. I LOVE it. it keeps everything in its place and it has pockets for my big full page coupons and a pocket for my calculator, scissors and pens. the rings stay together well and this is an all around great buy! I mess with my binder at least every other day and have had it for about a month with no issues.

What a disappointment! This was such a great binder when we first got it, large enough to fit all middle school stuff, with a convenient handle & strap. BUT after 1 month, it needs to be replaced. The rings have become so loose, they are no longer closing properly: the paper sheets are falling off & every subject needs to be re-sorted at night. Many other students have the same issue. Not worth the price (abt. $27.00 with shipping).
