I was disappointed when it arrived and without even opening the package, I could see that its color was nothing like the one in the photograph. It looked much more like the regal red case (same manufacturer, same seller, same item page, but different design for some strange reason). But the price was right (especially after Amazon made me a partial refund because of the color mixup), so I kept it.
As it turns out, if you look at it in the right light, the purple case *is* purple - sort of. It's more of a deep plum color than the bright purple I'd been expecting, but I can see them calling it purple.
Design: As noted, it's got magnets to hold it closed, and there's a kickstand that lets you prop it up for reading in hands-free mode. I'm really enjoying that feature. The kickstand is held in place by a magnet, and it rests in any of the ridges in a patch on the front of the cover, to let you adjust the angle. There's a same-color ribbon holding the kickstand in place and keeping it from going too far out.
Another reviewer noted that if you open the case while holding it in the wrong direction, the kindle tends to slide out. I concur, and it's something you need to be careful of when opening the case to use the kindle. A small elastic strap, that could be pushed away to insert/remove the reader, would go a long way to prevent mishaps.
The magnet in the cover works well to turn the screen off/on when you close/open the case - I've been very pleased with that.Read more ›
Cons..no closure on top(opposite hinged side) so if you open case without the hinged side being down the device will fall out.

It just makes the Kindle Paperwhite too bulky. I like the magnetic closure, but again, just makes it too big. Read morePublished on October 28, 2013 by RumbleSis162
Works great to prop up my Kindle Paperwhite at whatever angle I want! It opens up from the bottom, so that does take some getting used to. Read morePublished on September 1, 2013 by Kdb888
I like this cover as the easel is handy plus the price was very affordable. If not using the easel I generally keep my Kindle Paperwhite in a smaller, lighter case as this one is... Read morePublished on July 27, 2013 by mkb
