I found this case when searching for something to use for my new Kindle Paperwhite once it finally arrived. It's hard to find a good easel case for the e-readers, that isn't plug-ugly, and I was intrigued by the vivid purple in the photograph. Yes, I really liked the bright color.

I was disappointed when it arrived and without even opening the package, I could see that its color was nothing like the one in the photograph. It looked much more like the regal red case (same manufacturer, same seller, same item page, but different design for some strange reason). But the price was right (especially after Amazon made me a partial refund because of the color mixup), so I kept it.

As it turns out, if you look at it in the right light, the purple case *is* purple - sort of. It's more of a deep plum color than the bright purple I'd been expecting, but I can see them calling it purple.

Design: As noted, it's got magnets to hold it closed, and there's a kickstand that lets you prop it up for reading in hands-free mode. I'm really enjoying that feature. The kickstand is held in place by a magnet, and it rests in any of the ridges in a patch on the front of the cover, to let you adjust the angle. There's a same-color ribbon holding the kickstand in place and keeping it from going too far out.

Another reviewer noted that if you open the case while holding it in the wrong direction, the kindle tends to slide out. I concur, and it's something you need to be careful of when opening the case to use the kindle. A small elastic strap, that could be pushed away to insert/remove the reader, would go a long way to prevent mishaps.

The magnet in the cover works well to turn the screen off/on when you close/open the case - I've been very pleased with that.

I had to buy a second case for my Kindle because there is no closure on the top of this one when it is open and my kindle fell out. It is a shame, too because it is beautiful and stands up so nicely. After picking my kindle up off the floor the second time I used it, I realized it just was too unsafe to use.

I got this to protect my new Paperwhite Kindle. At first I got this because of the excellant price thinking I would never use the viewing stand as I always hold my Kindle. I have found that it is quite handy to use the viewing stand when I need both hands--for eating or answering the phone, or cuddling with my little "lap" dog. This cover also is a good case and for the price a very good value. It will protect the Kindle and also provide a way to continue to read if I need both hands. I give it a 4 star rating because my Paperwhite Kindle just slips easily into the case from the top and could easilty fall out if I am carrying it and do not have it properly closed. I am satified and pleased.

I own this case in black for my PW. and I love it just received the purple one for my bride for her brides gift this Saturday along with a paper white. Not only was the color not purple ( her favorite color). But the cover was sewn on upside down. But amazon is fixing the problem I just hopes it arrives in time for the gift exchange. Three days from now. I did order the green one this time. I don't want us to have the same color. Lets see if amazon comes through they normally do.

This is a nice case--fits well and sturdy and looks very nice. I prefer an easel-type stand for reading, and this one works pretty well, although the closure flap keeps it from lying quite as flat as it might. Overall, I am quite pleased with it.

I was skeptical about the product because of the price. However I was very pleasantly surprised by the product. It is a perfect fit for the Kindle White Paper. It turns it off and on when I open the case, which I find awesome. The color of the purple I received is darker than shown in the photo, however I like it much better. I would definitely recommend this item. I ordered it last Sunday evening and received it on Thursday. Super fast!

I really like the ability to have my Kindle Paperwhite stand up at a comfortable angle to read. However, there is nothing to hold it in place if it is accidentally knocked over. The new paperwhite does not fit tightly enough in the case to prevent it from falling out. The top of the unit is not secured at all, and my kindle landed on the floor. Fortunately it was not damaged. I managed to attach a bit of adhesive-type Velcro over the top of the case to prevent it from slipping out. It interferes a bit with the sleep function, but at least my reader is secure.

Pros..sturdy, protects when closed, good stand up kickstand, reasonably priced

Cons..no closure on top(opposite hinged side) so if you open case without the hinged side being down the device will fall out.
