Editorial Reviews

From the Author

Most of us are aware of what happened to Japanese-Americans during WWII, how many of them were interned in camps across the country, especially on the West Coast. The same thing happened to German-Americans during WWI, but few people know this because their story is seldom told. For those German-Americans who escaped internment, life during WWI was difficult. My grandparents were two of those people. They sent their son off to serve in the United States Army, but that fact didn't lessen the prejudice they and their family suffered during the war. In "The Case of the Fugitive Farmer", I tell the story of a German-American farmer who was drafted during WWI, but disappeared before reaching boot camp. Many years later his disappearance is investigated by amateur sleuth and ER nurse Caroline Rhodes. I hope you enjoy this and the other story in this collection.
