I get compliments on this item all the time. I've dropped it to many times and it has protected my phone tons of times with very few scratches. I can change the photo all I want on the back of the case. So many people love the photo changing idea! I'm impressed with this item. I have had a few other cases similar to this one and have easily broken them within months. Not this case. I love how it has a lip in front of the case so when o drop it face down it protects the screen! The case is a little hard to get on and off which can be good for dropping purposes.

Cheap, simple, effective (hopefully)

I had the Spigen version of this case for almost a year and was very happy with it, but the mint green picked up way too much dirt so I decided to replace it with this dark blue one. Straight out of the packaging, the two cases were very similar. The Caseology case, however, has seams that are a little rough to the touch but also has a slightly more sturdy fit to the front of the phone. The only difference I could see being an issue is that the cutout for the headphone jack and charger are smaller on this case.

Decent, lightweight iPhone 5S case

Definitely light weight, but still manages to give the phone a more durable feel. When I bought my iphone 5S I didn't realize how flimsy it felt, and this case definitely makes the phone feel substantial. The back is smooth and so far very clear, and smooth. The edges are rubbery and have a good grip; the bumper keeps the screen a good distance away from a surface if you place your phone face-down. The case was easy to place on my phone; I merely slid the phone in and tucked it into the left hand side of the case and it pushed firmly into the right side of the case, no hassle. I have not noticed any issues using the camera, but I also don't use flash; so I may have to experiment with that to see if there are any glares.
My only issue is that the sides of the case aren't totally snug and close fitting to the left and right of the phone. While large objects can't obviously get in, I just know some dust will start accumulating from the sides and maybe sneak to the back of the phone. Must be because of the rubbery sides having to be flexible and the fit isn't 100% super-snug to the phone. I still think it feels very durable, and for now, it's really all the protection I need; but if you're pretty rough with your phone and your environment is prone to lots of dust, skip this one.

I'm happy with this case

I'm happy with this case. I picked navy over the teal because of reviews about the teal discoloring. So far (~2 months in), the navy has been just fine and looks good with my silver phone. It feels sturdy and doesn't feel cheap. I've dropped my phone maybe 4 times from about waist-level (I can be a little clumsy) and it has done a good job of protecting it. The clear back has a couple of small scratches that aren't noticeable unless you're really looking, and has held up nicely (I had a couple of Spigen cases before this one where the metal backing scratched up pretty quickly with gentle use, but this one hasn't had any problems like that). My only "complaint" about this case is that it collects dust and other particles over time, which may or may not bother you with the clear backing. It was not in a way that seems like it might scratch or damage my phone, but since my phone is silver/white, I do notice it a bit and have popped the phone out to wipe down the case a couple of times.

The case looks good from the front of the phone but have only had it for a month and can't keep the air bubbles from between the back of the phone and the case which forces me (yes, forces!) to push the air bubbles out obsessively which is now creating frayed edges which look horrible. This is my first iPhone so my first case. not sure if all cases do this but it looks terrible now and I will be replacing soon.

Okay so this is embarrasing but it turns out that what I thought was a clear plastic backing was really only the film covering the real back to the phone case which is a hard thick plastic that actually works really well. So, sorry for the bad review the first time around.

Pros:
nice looking - not really bulky like an otterbox
simple
allows for easy access to earphone port, charger and speakers
easy to install
feels like it will offer some protection from falls but I have not dropped the phone yet so hard to really say for sure

Cons:
none that I can think of

Fit and finish is not great

Easy to install my 5S, but the vertical (long) edges of the case do not fit snugly. When my phone vibrates, it sounds like an engine trying to throw a piston. Really annoying. Almost too slick, the edges are plastic and have very little grip. Nice for putting in/out of pockets, but slides a lot surfaces. the back of the case, the clear part, does not fit closely to the phone. There is a visable gap around the hole for the camera. I imagine this will be problematic, it will allow all kinds of dust and debris to get between the case and the phone body.
Overall, it's better than nothing, but the fit/finish is poor.
